En Masse Debuts, Will Unveil TERA at GDC 2010

En Masse Entertainment officially announced its formation today, and this game publisher is comprised of veterans from some companies you may recognize: Blizzard, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, ArenaNet, and NCsoft. CEO Dr. Jae-Heon Yang was the CTO for NCsoft until 2007, while COO Patrick Wyatt was a creator of the Warcraft and Starcraft franchises, as well as the co-founder of ArenaNet.

En Masse's first official title is TERA, a next-generation MMO developed by Korean company Bluehole Studio. The game is scheduled to launch for PC in Korea this year, and En Masse is currently adapting it for Western audiences in North America and Europe for an early 2011 release. En Masse will unveil TERA next month in San Francisco at the 2010 Game Developers Conference.

TERA is a gorgeous fantasy MMO with a tactical combat system that will allow players to have a direct impact on the world through the game's political system. Players can choose from six races, such as High Elves and the Panda-like Popori, and eight classes. Check out the official TERA trailer after the jump and keep an eye on ZAM.com for more information on the game as it's revealed.

Video: Do Adult Film Stars Play Video Games Too?

Adult film stars are video gamers too. At least that was the theory that we tried to prove when we visited CES’ naughty next door neighbor, the Adult Entertainment Expo. In our 2nd annual visit to the AEE, it was our goal to prove what we tried to establish last year… that you can’t go anywhere without finding someone that is into video games.

Last year we talked with Jesse Jane, Jenny Hendrix, Sinn Sage, and Mia Rose, and although we ran into some familiar faces (like Taylor Byrd) and a whole slew of new talent (cha-ching!), this year we also came face-to-face with a true legend of the adult film industry… Ron Jeremy (who happens to be starring in his own video game)! Some other folks we ran into include a rep from the notorious Fleshlight (ew?), some oddly out of place techies from Iomega (doubling up on CES and AEE!), and a giant, mechanical, riding… you get the idea.

So did we actually find anyone that plays video games at the Adult Entertainment Expo? You’ll have to watch the video to find out, but you’ll be surprised with some of the answers! Click through the break to watch the entire AEE video!

BFF Report Episode 15 - Mass Effect 2 Video Review

The original Mass Effect is arguably one of the most epic sci-fi games – if not entire settings – to ever see the light of day. Like Star Wars and Star Trek, this single player RPG has attracted an almost cult-like following, and hordes of those fans will be lining up on the evening of January 25th to rush into their local video game stores and pick up their brand new copies of Mass Effect 2.

So to jack the hype even higher, our BFF Report host, Mike B. aka Fony, decided to nab an early copy of the heralded title and has voiced his own views on the state of Commander Shepard’s continuing trek across the galaxy. What did he think? What did he find out? Which girl did he sleep with?

To answer all those questions and more, make sure you check out a special Mass Effect 2 edition of The BFF Report!

CES 2010: ATI Eyefinity and Ostendo Monitors Video

Although tech and video gaming expos are always full of circus-like entertainment, this year’s CES was bordering on the E3s of yesteryear, complete with carnival barkers and audience competitions. One of the more prominent displays of boardwalk showmanship was at the ATI Eyefinity booth, which featured gamers going head-to-head in Dirt 2 using a triple-screen setup being powered by the new Eyefinity.

After taking part in the competition, our own Mike B. aka Fony (from ZAM’s BFF Report) was invited to the super-secret ATI suite where he got to check out the Eyefinity running some of the world’s first wrap around monitors. We talked with the reps from Ostendo, the makers of the extreme monitors, to find out exactly what kind of specs their products have and how much cash it would take to have your own setup at home. Maingear made a splash at this year’s CES with their enormous and unnervingly quiet computer known as “The Shift.” To grill the Maingear representative, we brought in our faceman, The BFF Report’s Mike B. aka Fony, and let him learn all the ins and outs of the Maingear Shift.
