We got a sneak peek at cards like the entry level AMD ATI Radeon HD 5450, which will launch next month for under $100, and Codename: Trillian, a card that can support six display outputs.

The 5970 is the enthusiast card at the moment, and they're actually way north of 400 (just type in 5970 at newegg to see the prices). It looks like the trillian is going to be an even more pimped out version of the 5970. The card most gamers are going to want is at least a 5850, which they didnt talk about here, and its around $250-300, which is not a bad price for a very good video card. Essentially they are calling the 5850 a mid-tier card, but the kicker is it blows the pants off of nearly everything that Nvidia is currently offering except for thier top two or so cards which are in the same market segment as the 5970. I personally have a 5770, which is around 170 bux. It is another dx11 card, but with way less kick than a 5850. Unless you are on an extremely tight budget, or if you are putting together an HTPC, then you probably dont want the 5450. Do yourself a favor and get a 5850 and you are probably good to go for the next two or so years.
