Here at KeitaroPrime, we have implemented a structure and leadership which we feel will continually fine tune KeitaroPrime as a place where you can come to make friends, have fun, and accomplish your goals.
For a social linkshell, we are one of the larger ones on the server. This has it's advantages and disadvantages. While it can be intimidating when new to the linkshell, we feel you will find yourself at home if you give us some time.

Please visit the recruitment forums at www.keitaroprime.com for up to date information regarding recruitment status and information applicable to new applicants. We typically open recruitment once per year but always consider referrals by current members.
Members who have gone above and beyond for the good of the linkshell. This is our way of showing appreciation for loyalty, helping, organizing, being selfless, being active in the forums, and generally contributing to the good of Keitaro.
KeitaroPrime, what a long strange journey it's been. Started by a couple gamers, Gor and Jaycougar as part of their gaming network "ForceCouncil" started the linkshell, named xFORCExCOUNCILx, on day 1 of the NA PC release, Oct 29, 2003.
Gor and Jay were dedicated to the success of their website, and over about 3 months, gradually lost interest in playing FFXI. During this hiatus, the Linkshell pearlsack holders were more concerned about numbers, and handed out pearls to anyone who would accept them. It's not surprising, that the Linkshell became inundated with characters of all types, with little to no leadership, and turned chaotic.
Gor and Jay became concerned over the division, and promoted one of the members, Kalador, to Head of Recruitment. Kalador wrote up some recruitment threads on several FFXI websites, and begain screening applicants. He had a second role as well, which was to clean up the linkshell of troublemakers. He meticulously removed members, while gaining a higher calibur group.
Kalador was very determined to pave the way for a highly respected and well organized linkshell. During these early days of Keitaro, some troublesome members did not get along with Kalador, and thought they could do a better job running the linkshell. These members stirred up a highly dramatic rivalry in the linkshell before convincing members to break off causing a divide in membership. Kalador, unphased, went on to recruit some of the highest quality people on our server, and instated our zero drama policy, which is still in place today. With his determination and successful recruitment campaign, it didn't take long before Kalador became the linkshell leader. Incidently, of the members who broke off from the linkshell, only one is recognized as still playing the game. Their LS was dissolved within months.
After the promotion, Kalador took the final step to cleaning up the linkshell, and deleted it. Which leads to a new name for the linkshell. FORCExCOUNCIL was born.
Learning from these dramatic events, Kalador was quick to judge, and break pearls. Inevitably this left us with a high calibur group of members. The combination of having a place to organize out of game, and the foundation he created has been a catalyst in the success of the Linkshell.
Shortly after the Apr 2004 patch was released, one of our members Nalia started organizing a weekly event. And so began "Friday Garrison". Taking several months to organize, learn and tweak it, Nalia turned this into our Friday ritual, and it has been a blast! It was heartbreaking when it ended in Apr 2007 Rest in peace garrison. Thank you for the 3 years of good times!
Sometime later, Kalador decided to clean house a second time, and break away from the FC brand. He wanted a new name, a more noble name, and it was decided to break the FC linkshell, and start our new existence. The linkshell was reborn, under the name Keitaro. Keitaro was chosen for the Japanese tranlsation of "blessed".
After about 18 months of leadership, Kalador ran into some busy and rough times in real life, and looked to his leadership for support. Mystie graciously stepped up into the owner role, and has been our "Mega-boss" ever since. Since Kalador was deleting his character, and linkshells cannot be transfered, we needed a new name. We loved our Keitaro name, so we became KeitaroPrime.
About this time, Square Enix recognized us as one of the top linkshells accross all servers and decided to give us recognition by making us the #1 featured site on playonline.com SE even called Gor's cell phone many months later, and had a converation expressing how well we are doing, and asked us to keep up the good work!
We held this prestigious position for well over a year until our forums were moved to a new domain, and we were replaced as the featured site with wiki.ffxiclopedia.org.
Under the leadership of Mystie, and collaboration from the other leaders, we have built upon the original foundation of Keitaro, and it has brought us into a golden age. We have come a long way to have accomplished so much over the years. The talent, organization, and attitude represented in our members have given us many amazing memories, with many more to come. Mystie has hosted numerous weekends at her home in Florida where linkshell members can go out to the bar, clubs, and play poker with her custom made Keitaro poker chips.
In January 2007, Jaycougar and Gor removed the forcecouncilgaming forums and started development on a new website. Even though we had been there throughout the years, and started over 4 times as they created new websites, we felt we were losing too much history every time we started over. Leadership has decided to make the forums at forumup.org our new permanent home.
