2009 Pumpkin Carving Contest

Halloween is just around the corner and the MHMU has likely already begun their preparations for the spookiest and creepiest time of year. In order to do our part to get everyone into the spirit of things, the Allakhazam Pumpkin Carving Contest is back for its third year! Get your knives and scrapers ready in what should be a fun and exciting chance to display both your creativity and love for Vana'diel!

The Prizes

We are very happy to announce that the development and operations team has created two special in-game items just for this contest. The first 500 approved entries in the contest will receive a small in-game pumpkin and the top 25 finalists will also receive a large in-game pumpkin, both available only through the Allakhazam Pumpkin Carving Contest!

Grand Prize: Shadow Lord Statue, 3 months ZAM premium membership

3 Runner-ups (2nd, 3rd, 4th place): - Star Onions and Piano Collection CDs, 1 month ZAM premium membership

First 10 (approved) entries: - Nation Key Chains

Top 25 Finalists: Large in-game pumpkin

First 500 (approved) entries: Small in-game pumpkin

How to Enter

Entries should be emailed to ffxiteam@allakhazam.com. LIMIT ONE APPROVED ENTRY PER PERSON. For tips on photographing your pumpkin, visit Pumpkin Carving 101. Please include all of the following:

• Full Name
• Character Name
• Allakhazam Username (if applicable)
• E-mail address
• Server Name
• Country of Residence
• At least one photo of pumpkin in light
• At least one photo of pumpkin lit in the dark

Images can and will be re-sized for contest display. Please do not submit cropped and re-sized images.

Entry Confirmation

Contestants that submit entries approved for the contest will receive an entry number. Contestants with entry numbers from 001 to 500 are qualified for the in-game pumpkin. The in-game pumpkin is exclusive to the 2009 Pumpkin Carving Contest. Entries rejected by the Allakhazam team will NOT receive an in-game pumpkin. Contestants that have their entries rejected may submit another entry for consideration. If confirmation is not received within 24 hours, please email to inquire about your entry.

Please note that the character information provided with the entry will be the recipient of the in-game item unless otherwise specified by the contestant.

The Rules

Please read the official rules of the contest.

1. All pumpkin entries must be carved by the entrant and must have been carved in September or October 2009.
2. No offensive or pornographic entries will be accepted. All entries must be "Safe for Work".
3. Entries must be Final Fantasy XI related.
4. All entries must remain anonymous until voting is closed. Entries posted by creators to the forums or elsewhere will be disqualified.
5. Entries must be submitted by 6 PM EST on October 24, 2009.
6. Limit of ONE full-sized pumpkin per entry. Up to two miniature pumpkins may be used as needed for additional creative effort.
7. Limit one entry per person.

This year, the ZAM team will be choosing 25 entries from all pumpkins submitted to move on to a poll to determine the winner. Names will be excluded from the poll in order to ensure fair voting.

The 25 finalists will be posted to showcase the talent of our community. The poll will be put up after contest closing on October 24 and will remain open for voting until October 31.

Allakhazam.com reserves the right to disqualify any entry based on photographic quality, pumpkin theme, or any other reason that may deem the entry as offensive or unacceptable. Allakhazam.com reserves the right to disqualify any votes cast in order to ensure fair voting. Winner(s) may be asked to provide additional photographs of the winning pumpkin(s) for verification purposes.
