We Happy Few Kickstarter Has Launched
Take your joy and fuel up for a dystopian wonderland in the latest Compulsion Games title.
Compulsion Games, developer of Contrast, has just launched its Kickstarter for the upcoming dystopian survival game We Happy Few! Following a linear storyline, We Happy Few is set in a psychotically dark environment bent on taking drugs to remain content. The player's goal is to not indulge in this drug-fueled lifestyle while managing to avoid the suspicions of their touchy fellow denizens.
In We Happy Few, you play as a Downer - someone off their happy pills. We have three Downers for you to unlock and play.
Our playable characters are not typical video game heroes - they are flawed and not particularly heroic, warped by the trauma their world has been through. They are haunted by terrible things they’ve done in the past, and they each have something they urgently need to accomplish.
Each one has a story to play through. Their stories all interweave, so by playing one character, you can unlock new ones. And, each character has his or her own strengths and weaknesses, which change how you play the game.
Many Kickstarter tiers are available; for example there is $6 USD (a supporter tier with no game), $20-$24 USD (one copy of the game), $48 USD (pre-alpha access plus all previous rewards such as a digital soundtrack and PDF artbook), and a wide variety of higher level tiers that have a range of rewards such as collectors editions, physical items, an in-game face placement, or even access to the VIP launch party.
