Fallen Earth Launch Date Pushed Back to Sept. 15

It looks like you're going to have to wait a little longer to enter the post-apocalyptic world of Fallen Earth. The team recently announced the launch date has been pushed back almost a week to Sept. 15 to work on server and client optimizations, as well as graphic improvements.

If you pre-ordered the game, you'll still be able to gain early access to Fallen Earth on Sept. 9, which was the game's previously scheduled release date. Project Manager Colin Dwan said the tweaks are being implemented due to feedback from beta testers. "Our primary concern is making sure game play experience is as smooth as possible on launch day," he said.

Dev Journal Entry Discusses Character Builds

The Fallen Earth dev team has written a journal entry for Massively that focuses on character builds, and it gives players some hints on how to utilize the classless advancement system to its fullest extent. After all, as stated in the entry, "learning how to navigate a wide-open system can be a bit daunting for even the most experienced players."

First, the team explains how characters advance in rank and abilities regardless of class or faction. Basically, players earn AP by gaining ranks or completing missions. AP is used to raise the stats, skills and mutations that players feel are most needed for their characters. Skills may also be modified by equipment and special abilities.

The journal entry ends with three sample character builds for each faction. Do you want to be a Dreadnaught Enforcer? How about an Assassin Traveler? Check out the dev journal to see which attributes and skills to focus on as you take your character through the post-apocalyptic world of Fallen Earth.
