Using Allakhazam for Burning Crusade
I thought I would post a note on how to best use our site for the first few days of the Burning Crusade release. Because we have been collecting data for several months during the beta, all of the new items, quests, mobs, etc. should be in the database. Much of what we collected for beta is now listed on the live part of the site. However, because certain things change from beta to live and because we want to make sure our database is as accurate as possible, there will be things listed for items and mobs that are currently beta only. Drop information is the most obvious thing that we are only going to collect starting with the actual expansion date.
What does this mean? If you look at the top of every entry, there is a live/test link. When you search a mob or item or quest in the database and think we should have more information on it, try clicking on test and see what beta information we have that we didn't copy to live. For the most part everything you need should be listed on the live version, but there may be additional information such as drops listed only on test.
Within a few days this probably won't really be an issue, as all of the people starting the expansion tonight and running wowreader will quickly fill up the database. (Which prompts me to again heartily thank everyone running wowreader and helping populate our database).
