With the PlayOnline Viewer update, additional features have been added to the Friend List. However, there are some functions that are unavailable in "Friend List Plus." - Sending and receiving messages related to Group Friend List - personal comments Upon trying to access these features, there is a possibility that an error message may appear. * These features can be accessed properly through PlayOnline Viewer. Other functions are working properly and are available.

is there a way for u to take someone off your friends list? i have some on there that i'd like to take off cause either they don't play anymore, or they never want to show me their online status

anyone know how to do this?

I believe that you go to Friend List at Playonline... choose the persons name, then 'Delete from friend list' (or something like that)

An "intelligent background updater" as you called it would only be good to add new content. Not review/log old content, add new content, and put an entire new mask on SquareEnix's "OS", POL. I personally am glad that SquareEnix takes us down once a month to perform maintenance. It means that they admit there are bugs in their game, and are always looking for them, trying to make our gaming experiences the best they possibly can.
I for one, am grateful, and excited to try out the new Friend's List--this shows that we are an ever evolving international community, and that SquareEnix is willing to help us evolve, and evolve with us.

Finally, someone who understands... I'm so damn tired of hearin people pitchin a ***** about " Is theis what I pay my <x ammount of currency> for? so they can take the game down?" It's like, yeah, you dumbass, that is what you pay your X ammount of money for... Rather they left everything up all the time and nothing ever got fixed? I'de love to see the ******* pitched then...

Very well said. I hold Square Enix in high regards for their devotion to FFXI. Lets take a look at Blizzard, who'se servers go down randomly, and they can't handle the people. While there is some debate about Jeuno, 1 in however many zones is good enough for me. Plus, they take their servers down monthly for their defragmentation, backup, and whatever else their doing as to not allow their servers to become overloaded.

Square Enix is showing dedication and interest in FFXI, and didn't just release it to have it take it's course in the market. More power to SE on this game.

i agree with last post on page u guys need patience man.

they will obviously fix more than friends list.
and i would rather see 8 hours of maintenace that go through search failed and **** like that on a daily basis.

yes it does take time for server maintenance but hey they do it during the day when people actually work and go to school so no biggy.

Uhm no, they always do maintenance from around 6 pm till 10 pm for me. The world isn´t NA only you know...
Anyway you wont hear me complaining about the updates they are necessary.

just a note... some people have absolutely no life and play this game every waking hour when they aren't eating/peeing/pooping.... to them, this is like a day off work with no pay...

They did not take down the game just for this . If you go to POL it says they are doing maintenance to the servers also . Without them taking them time to fix bugs and maintain the servers , we would have crashes on a daily basis , and possible damage to character info . Be glad and greatful S/E takes the time to keep these problems to a minimum .
