Do you hunt for rare items?

I've done the Blued Two-handed hammer quest, my necro that moved to FV took my collection of rarities (like treant staff) with her. Of course on FV you can get super rares like the flowers of functionality in baz due to the no-drop rules (so it isn't quite the same --wish I had kept my collection on a normal server... oh well).

On Regular servers, what rare items were you pleased to have acquired?

 

Also, it looks like there may be some long-standing loot discrepancies in Veeshan's Peak due to revamps. Anyone that feels like hunting old dragons please report what still drops on an NPC like Xygoz vs. a newer NPC like Milyen Vioren (whom we don't even have a pic of yet).

Finally, it looks like Lucy the item collector is broken. PLEASE post in the "site feedback forum" how you feel about this. Especially you premium people... this update would have been 5x longer if the item collector was working.

This one is pretty intriguing. Virtually no info about this item but it does "appear" to exist. Interesting that Magelo does have it in its items database but when you clink the link it generates a "page not exist" warning. Never seen that in Magelo before.

Great job by the team making the site feel fresh and alive. There is something new to read and comment on every day I come to the site and that makes things feel alive.

As for camping rare items, I like activities that give me a specific goal to work on. Sometimes that's going after a rare item drop (StormFeather), and I love the epics and the augment quests (hand augment, Bayle's shield augment, occulus. etc.)

I recently uploaded a fair amount of pics to VP, I'll try to fill in the missing gaps as well as confirm drops.

Yup, I collect rare items but only ones that a warrior can use. I'm fairly happy with the museum in my EQ house but still need to fill in a few gaps. It's what keeps me busy in EQ these days (and also why I am in VP so often).

Other than my epics, for sure:

Talisman of Vah Kerrath

Factoring in all the work to get flagged for Vex Thal, and then the multiple clears to get to the boss, Aten Ha Ra, and then kill her, and then managing to pile up enough dkp to win the quest item needed off her to get this necklace, certainly a quest accomplishment that everyone in our guild relished at the time. It doesn't look like much now but the Talisman was far and away the best neck item for any class at the time of Luclin.

"Worth the Pain?" Seems so at the time. Made me feel like a Smiley: king !!

The item collector is based on the eqitems of kyle smith, it just been updated to include other things, Hence the site is practically the same as the old eqitems site. It is not shadows of doom's collector it kyle smith's updated to work.

If you check out: http://web.archive.org/web/20130827011626/http://eqitems.13th-floor.org/ it uses exactly the same fonts etc with that.

Anyone can obviously use it to collect and zam wants to download the item database and use at their own they are welcome to do so, and anyone else for that matter. As long as they are people collecting that is the main thing. We got eqitems to work as, lucy is falling behind on updates all the time. Believe, me I wish allakhazam updated everquest regulary.

I dont know how to take this comment. I've been using ZAM for years. Due to game time restrictions, I'm not premium at this time. If the site ever wants my money back, then they need to get something like the item collector working again. This site was the best place in town to get information. Ever since yalls merger the items and support have become less and less.

IMO, get the staff together, get the stuff working again, or pull the plug. Dont drag it through the mud.

Here is a link to what looks like to be a working version. I do not know who owns it nor how often it updates.

Edit: link removed awaiting clarification that there isn't a copyright issue with Zam's proprietary rights to Lucy and all that kind of stuff...

It's owned by Shadows of Doom it appears. The page looks like Lucy, but is SoD's database. I wish they could join forces and get ours working.

BTW thanks for posting the link as it may be an option to use in the future and a good place to find up-to-date items.
