Guild Wars 2: Season 2 Returns in January
The Living World will return in January while events reign supreme during the holidays.
In a blog post today, Colin Johanson of ArenaNet announced that Guild Wars 2 Season 2 will be going on Christmas break, with the next episode of the season set to launch on January 13th. While there will be no new story for a month, ArenaNet has a host of new events during the break including the return of Wintersday.
Next Tuesday, December 16th, players will see the return of Wintersday, this time hosted in Divinity's Reach as Lion's Arch continues its rebuilding process. Alongside Wintersday, the patch will start up the test ladder season for structured PvP. This ladder will run until the January 13th patch, at which point the top 250 players will receive a Mini Llama and the top 20 players receiving pieces of the coveted Glorious Hero's armor.
December 16th also hosts a special World vs World event called WvW Sneak Attack. This event will change up the rules a bit until the January 13th patch. Every player kill will count as a point for your server (and stomps will give an additional point while with Borderlands Bloodlust active) and objectives will no longer display white swords announcing that they are under attack. If this wasn't exciting enough, the Mist War Summons buff will be turned on to give players +15% WXP, +50% Magic Find and +15% experience from kills in WvW.
