Minecraft: Now Available on PS4
Get ready to roam the realm of Minecraft in a new console edition.
Minecraft is everywhere. Merchandise of every kind. Discussed in every corner of gaming. On a whim I searched for "Minecraft movie," and there's one in the works. In an effort to reach every possible gamer, Minecraft is available to play on PC, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
PlayStation Vita is coming in a few weeks. Xbox One is here tomorrow. PlayStation 4 is here today.
Here are a few key notes from Mojang:
- Minecraft on the PS4 is currently only available in the EU; coming to NA soon.
- It will cost $19:99 from the PSN store; it costs $4.99 to upgrade from the PS3 version.
- "You can import your existing Playstation 3 worlds to Playstation 4 Edition."
The new edition additions come on the heels of a major update, Minecraft 1.8. The update added several blocks, items, and the fan-favorite sponge has regained its absorption. While the update doesn't apply to mobile or console versions, former players can explore a fresh version of the game.
