Guild Wars 2: Feature Pack
Find out what is coming to Guild Wars 2 in the big feature patch on April 15th.
Wardrobe
- Account-wide system that will replace the Transmutation system
- Located under the equipment tab of the Hero’s panel
- Players can select a gear slot, which will show unlocked skins for that slot
- Selecting a skin will preview it on the character within the Hero panel, when you are finished making your selection you can hit Apply to save the skin changes
- Changing skins will use up Transmutation Charges
- After the patch, Transmutation Stones, Crystals and Splitters can be used to give charges
- 3 Stones = 1 Charge
- 1 Crystal = 1 Charge
- 1 Splitter = 5 Charges
- Previously free to obtain and use skins (Achievement and Hall of Monument reward skins) will still be free to use in the wardrobe
- Skins can be Unlocked in the Wardobe by:
- Using skin consumables
- Equipping items
- Salvaging equipment
- Right-clicking equipment and Account-binding it
- Anything bound on acquire will be automatically unlocked
- Anything previously account or soul-bound before the patch will be unlocked when you log on to the character that is holding it
- Skins that have gone through a progression will unlock previous skins used in the progression
- Unlocking a Legendary skin will also unlock the precursor’s skin
- Spinal Blade and Fractal Capacitor backpacks will unlock the earlier version of the backpiece skins used during upgrades
- Any items that have been Transmuted prior to the patch will unlock the current skin as well as the skin used up in the Transmutation process
- Any PvP Skins will be unlocked in the wardrobe
- This includes PvP Skins currently equipped, in your inventory and in the PvP Locker
- This will happen the first time a character on your account enters the Heart of the Mists
- PvP Lockers and PvP Skins are being removed from the game alongside this change
- Town Clothes
- Town Clothes are being retired
- Outfits, such as the Pirate Captain’s Outfit, will be combined into a single Outfit item
- Outfit items will go into an Outfit slot that will cover the player’s current armor appearance
- Single items like the Fuzzy Hats will be unlocked in the Wardrobe and the skin can be applied to armor
- Misc items (specifically ones no longer in the gem store) will be converted into Endless Tonics
- Toys (items that would give costume brawl skills when equipped) will now be usable items that remain in the player’s inventory
- Wardrobe Storage
- Wardrobe Storage is a new tab being added to the Bank window
- Here players can see and preview all available skins
- The Storage will show which skins have and have not been unlocked on the account
- Similar in appearance to the PvP Locker, the storage is just to take stock of what is unlocked and preview items. Skins cannot be withdrawn or used from the Storage.
Account-wide Dyes
- Players will need to log into each character to have the dyes unlock on each be transitioned to the account-wide system
- Duplicate dyes will reward characters with an Unidentified Dye
- For example, if you have Banana Dye unlocked on three characters, the first character will unlock Banana Dye for the account-wide system. The second and third characters will each receive an Unidentified Dye for the duplicate.
- With the account-wide system, Unidentified Dyes are being removed from the drop loot tables
- Will still be obtainable through the Mystic Forge and other in-game rewards
- Unidentified Dyes and specific colors of dyes will remain tradable and obtainable on the Trading Post
- The Dye UI in the Hero panel is being updated to give better functionality and match the new Wardrobe UI
