Minecraft to Launch on the PlayStation 3
Celebrate the holidays early with the PS3 version of Minecraft coming this week!
Holiday gifts are coming a bit early this year to PlayStation 3 players as MOJANG, the developer of the renowned sandbox title Minecraft, has announced that the game will be coming to the PS3 this Tuesday, December 17th and Wednesday, December 18th for those who are in the EU.
The game will be available to download directly from the PlayStation Store and, for those wondering, the PS3 version will be nearly identical to previous versions of the game, However you can expect a day one update in order to get the install caught up to speed. Downloadable skins and texture packs will also become available soon after launch, so keep an eye out for more information on their release.
And while the separate versions of the game (Xbox 360, PC, PS3) will be developed side-by-side, as of right now there aren't any PS3 exclusives. The developers state to keep your fingers crossed, so here's hoping those PS3 players can get some nifty bonuses to call their own.
While there is no confirmation of a PS4 version at this point, you can expect the PS3 version to cost about the same as its Xbox 360 counter-part: roughly $20.00 in the US and about €20.00 if you're stationed in the EU.
With the announcement of the Mincecraft PS3 version, do you plan on picking it up for this system or waiting to see if you can start building your way out of trouble on the PS4? Let us know in the comments below!
As always, for more information on Minecraft and all things MMO related, keep it locked to ZAM.
See you in game!
