Tears of Veeshan Preview: Crafting the Afterlife
EverQuest II's tradeskillers have new content coming with Tears of Veeshan.
Tradeskillers rejoice! EverQuest II's next expansion, Tears of Veeshan, has a lot of great tradeskill content. The Far Seas Trading Company is finally taking note of the Ethernere and needs your assistance, and we got all the details!
Level 95 crafters will get a letter sending them to the Isle of Mara, where they'll be sent on quests to Obol Plains and Vessyr Isles to further Far Seas research. Along the way they'll get a new mount, acquire a lot of new house items, and obsessive harvesters can finish the saga of Qho Augren. It's not just about one quest series, though; once you've established your usefulness there are daily and weekly missions that reward Draconic Etyma, the alternate currency of Tears of Veeshan.
There are tons of recipes introduced in this expansion. At the request of players level 90 books have been added to fill in the gaps. Level 90 essentials books will be available from the usual merchants and level 90 advanced books are awarded in the first quest in the Tears of Veeshan Tradeskill Quests Series. The Draconic Etyma will let you buy some of the specialized recipes and create Runes, War Runes, and Item Upgraders. Stoneshard recipes and components are dropped in solo, group, and raid instances (many thanks to Ratagnan for the excellent tables!). Tradeskill apprentices get five new recipes which can be researched by all classes. We recommend EQ2 Trader's excellent ToV Crafter page for a rundown of the new recipes.
And there are shinies! Lots of them! We cataloged fifty-six new collection quests in Tears of Veeshan, five of which are special "red shiny" tradeskill collections that require the Earring of the Solstice. Three of these grant special teleporters to get you to the Ethernere overland zones.
There are too many new house items to mention here so check out Afista's EQ2 Design Gallery for a glance at everything from Wedding Cakes to elegent High Keep furniture sets. Last but not least, there are new guild hall crafting stations which do not require an amenitiy slot, just some upkeep.
Tears of Veeshan is slated to launch on November 12, 2013. See you in the afterlife!
