Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Update
Blizzard is adding a wealth of new features with Diablo III: Reaper of Souls..
BlizzCon has officially come to a close and over the course of the weekend there were a hefty amount of reveals for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. The base game was met with critical acclaim, but the games flaws soon became apparent to all that those that played the game. The auction house, the itemization, the difficulty, the loot grind--it all felt half-baked to many gamers.
Blizzard aims to change those sentiments with Reaper of Souls. For starters, it was announced that the much loathed auction house would finally meet its demise on March 18th, 2014. Since the announcement of the auction house's closure Blizzard had been relatively mum about how exactly Reaper of Souls plans to expand Diablo. The silence ended this weekend as Blizzard laid out their plans for the expansion:
- Act V, the Crusader class, leveling to 70, and "Loot 2.0" (as revealed before this weekend)
- Adventure Mode (a new sandbox option)
- Bounties (randomized objective system)
- Nephalem Rifts (fancy name for loot runs)
- Infinite Paragon Progression
- "The Mystic" (Enchanting NPC)
These options aim to add more variety to what many feel is a stale end game. Existing players will get the most out of the expansion as most of the added content is meant for max level adventurers. Blizzard has also made it exceedingly clear that this expansion is meant to bring back the darker style and loot drop addiction that previous Diablo installments were so famous for.
Will the announcements this weekend be enough to get you to jump back into the world of Sanctuary? Let us know in the comments below!
