Final Fantasy XIV - All Saints' Wake and More
Square Enix indulges us with four notable pieces of news.
If you're one of the one million (and growing) subscribers to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, we've got a major series of updates for you from Square Enix.
Halloween-like Event "All Saints' Wake"
"From this Friday, October 18th through Friday, November 1st, enjoy All Saints' Wake as the streets of Eorzea are decked with ceremonial lanterns and fanciful costumes can be enjoyed by all. A traveling circus troupe has made its way to the city-states, appearing overnight, as if by magic. Speak to these Shifty Thespians for a special Quest, but never forget that All Saints' Wake is a time for tricks as well as treats."
Free World Transfer Reminder
Looking to change servers/"Worlds"? You're in luck, because the World Transfer Service is free from tomorrow until Monday, October 21st. "Like the name implies, this service allows you to move your character to the World of your choice. So if your friends are playing in a different World, this week is the perfect opportunity to arrange playing in the same World."
Major Content Updates, Patches 2.1 and 2.2
Coming later this year, Square Enix is planning some significant content patches.
Here are the main things that you can expect:
- The Wolves' Den - The new center for PvP battles in Eorzea. [video]
- Housing - Players can claim their own home and personalize it. [video]
- Extreme Mode Primal Battles, Hard Mode Boss Battles
- New Primal Battle: Good King Moggle Mog XII
- New Dungeons including Pharos Sirius
- Treasure Hunting
- Beastmen Daily Quests
- The Crystal Tower
Lightning Returns on November 14th:
"November sees the collaboration with Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII with Lightning appearing in one of the game's Full Active Time Events (FATE)." Successful players will receive "special Lightning and Final Fantasy XIII-themed gear and weapons."
