Red Bull reveals a $50,000 StarCraft II tournament, a battle of the champions!
Following the disappointing news that StarCraft II would be missing from the next MLG event for the first time since its release, Red Bull jumped in to cheer up fans with a tease that something big was coming.
After making an announcement of an announcement yesterday, Red Bull has today pulled back the curtain on its largest endeavour into eSports yet, a two-day $50,000, eight man StarCraft II tournament in the Empire State itself!
Taking place on November 23-24 *opens up calendar to book holidays*, this grand StarCraft II tournament will be hosted and commentated by eSports caster extraordinaire Day[9] at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan.
The first four players have already been revealed and, naturally, this tournament draws champions from the previous Red Bull events, MC and Bomber who won the inaugural Red Bull Battlegrounds, including Golden the winner of Red Bull Training Grounds Santa Monica and Snute who won Red Bull Training Grounds Orlando.
Further popular eSports commentators will be announced in the near future on the official Red Bull ESPORTS portal, along with details about the qualifiers to select the remaining four players.
