Guild Wars 2 Adds August 10 Stress Test
Like a London bus, you wait for a stress test and two come along right after each other.
ArenaNet announced that August 10 will bring another opportunity for Guild Wars 2 fans to run amok in Tyria.
Players in the USA will be particularly happy as the added day of testing will have a more convenient four hour window for North American residents to join in.
As announced on the GW2 official forums:
"Thank you for all your help in today’s Stress Test!
We will be conducting a Stress Test on Friday, August 10 from 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time to 8:00 PM PACIFIC Time.
We will be actively working on the game during the event, so you might experience connectivity problems or discover features that are not working as designed. Any issues you experience are a result of the rigorous conditions of the stress test, and are in no way representative of the state of the game at launch. By participating in this stress test, you’re helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game. Thanks for your cooperation—we’ll see you in-game!"
Those lucky folks on the Eastern seaboard - including yours truly - will be able to spend the entire evening in-game, which has been a luxury held by you wonderful European residents in previous stress tests.
Today's test didn't go entirely smoothly - which was completely expected, of course - as servers were restarted, delaying the beginning. Disconnects and other issues were also reported, though the performance improved as the period wore on.
What were your experiences today? Will you be playing again? Or are you just waiting for the real kick off in just over two weeks?
