Trion Interview Touches on Housing and New Zone
ZAM user Puremallace has pointed us toward a recent article on French site Mondes Persistants that appears to shed a little more light on Trion Worlds' future plans for Rift. While the bulk of the article focuses on the topics that were discussed in a Gamescom video interview (such as the post-50 Planar Attunement advancement system, Chronicles of Telara solo dungeons, the Master Mode and the new Warfront), a couple of other points jumped out at us:
- Trion wants housing to be a finished and quality product. It might come out next year, but nothing is set in stone.
- Trion announced that before Christmas they will open a new zone where invasions and other conflicts will have more of an impact on the game. If the model is successful, it will spread across Telara.
This new area is likely tied to Ember Isle, which Trion said at Gamescom will come out in two patches with a new zone and a new style of gameplay. The possibility that invasions could be more persistent and meaningful is certainly intriguing.
