Peaceblooms vs Ghouls in WoW's Cataclysm Beta!
Popcap Games' ultra-popular Plants versus Zombies mini-game comes to World of Warcraft's Cataclysm Beta
Perhaps everyone saw this coming, given Blizzard's partnership with PopCap games, but it's impressive nonetheless that the mega-popular casual game, Plants vs. Zombies, has made its way into the World of Warcraft Cataclysm Beta. The quest and game takes place in Hillsbrad Foothills and appears to be aimed (experience reward-wise) towards players around level 20, but it's doubtful that only level 20s will be whiling away many an hour in this well designed game.
World of Warcraft Podcaster "TotalHalibut" has released a video on YouTube detailing the entire mini-game questline, and while the actual quest in itself doesn't appear to be too difficult, fans of Plants vs. Zombies will have a great time working on those achievements on endless mode, like trying to survive 100 waves of Ghouls.
All in all, the game looks to be quite well designed, even in adapting to the World of Warcraft engine, and this may signal the possibility of more casual PopCap games making their way into World of Warcraft.
