PC Gamer UK Reveals New Cataclysm Details
The newest edition of PC Gamer UK contains some new Cataclysm information that Editor Tim Edwards was able to pry from Blizzard when he took a trip to the company's headquarters after BlizzCon. WoW.com has outlined the new details from the article, which covers the Goblin and Worgen starting zones, the four new raids, and what's happening with the Horde.
If you don't mind reading some spoilers, the main information from the article can be found after the jump. If you'd rather be surprised, don't click that "more" link. According to WoW.com, here's what you can expect to see in Cataclysm:
- The Worgen starting zone begins in a flashback. "You meet a dissenter, Crowley, who believes that Gilneas' isolationism is a mistake and that they should rejoin the Alliance." The curse then takes you as you're fighting your friends and neighbors, and Crowley ultimately captures you a few months later.
- Goblins start on Kezan as a successful member of society. You trade your money for safe passage to the mainland after Kezan begins to fall, but the Trade Prince tries to sell you into slavery instead. This is where the shipwreck happens, which we covered in our preview of the race at BlizzCon.
- Garrosh is the new leader of the Horde, and he's redesigned Orgrimmar and evicted all but the Orcs and Tauren from the center of the city.
- The ruins of Lordaeron will be expanded.
- Stranglethorn will be one of the zones that receives the most alterations.
- The four new raids will be more like Naxx. Deathwing won't be one of the launch raids.
