Just a few questions, I called POL/SE last night and asked these questions:


What happens if the token gets lost?
The batteries wear out?
What if it gets damaged?
Will we be unable to play until we get a new one?
Will we have to log in using this every time?
Is there a way to turn the security feature off and still get the extra storage?
Will we get an 'on screen' token (as are used in several sites already like Ticketmaster)?
Will our mules also get the satchel or just orginal character?

SE operators said they didn't have any information, but almost everyone calling about the token had the same questions. They told me to check the POL site for any updates.

This looks about the size of a flash drive, and my dog has destroyed a few of them. I would hate to have him destroy it or me lose it and then have to wait for a new one to be sent to me.

Any additional info would be great.

If you go check out the company that SE is buying it from, it says that most of the money from these sales are going towards buying the license to use the technology anyway.

Also keep in mind that price includes shipping and tax, so it actually only costs like $5, give or take 2 dollars.

I'm sure SE is aiming to save money through not having to spend as much time restoring accounts, so it's more an investment than a exploit to get all of you to spend your money.

While I like the idea of the satchel, and the security token is benificial for those who have security issues. The satchel SHOULD NOT be a bonus item. It should only be a questable item.

I would love the extra inventory space, but for me this raises the question of how long till SE starts selling gil, or end game gear for cold hard cash.

Think of how much of an uproar people being able to buy fully upgraded relic weapons for $10 would cause from those that have spent the time to get them?
With how they are implementing the satchel, it would actualy have a much bigger impact on a character than any one item alone. Let alone the fact it will affect every character on an account.

Also think of all that situationaly usefull gear no one pays much attention to because of inventory restrictions, for end game events they will likely become mandatory items and fast. Not to mention how much of an edge this will give people in farming. At the very least it will increase a farmer's item capacity a 133% increase, based on the assumption of carring 16 peices of equipment+ 4 misc. items.

This is gonna make a bigger impact on the game than most think, all because SE decided to offer such a advantages Item as a "bonus" for those that buy the security token. Really, the security token is the bonus, not the satchel. And the whole thing currently will penalize anyone who does not want the security token.

Way to Go SE

Ok guys, let's look at a couple of things here. SE isn't trying to ***** anybody over, they're trying to give you a way to secure your accounts, in response to thousands of people crying over security and lost accounts. They didn't have to do this. $9.99 is a paltry sum, unless you're a teenager without a job or something. Seriously, $10 for a one-time purchase of something to protect your $15/month account seems like a good idea. Then they added the bonus of doubling your inventory. Seriously? I mean, that's what a lot of people have mules for, right? Think of this as a way to delete 2 or 3 mules, saving you money per month. If you just deleted 2 mules, you could pay this off in 5 months. The thing that really grabs my attention is that I can have 140-160 inventory slots. WOW!!!!!!!! Do you remember what it was like to try to work with just 30??? You should be kissing their feet, imo. You can now carry whatever gear you want to, without any reservations. Want a few slots for Ninja tools? You just got 'em. Potions? Yep. Ethers? You betcha. Almost unlimited space here, you should be happy. For a one-time fee of ten bucks, I don't see any reason to complain. After all, they're not forcing you to buy this thing. If you don't want it, don't buy it. They're not like gilsellers, get serious. Ten bucks to give you an actual physical item, and the opportunity to save money per month, they're not coming out ahead on this one, they're just looking to retain their monthly and long-term customers.

Let me be one of the first naysayers to say, WTG SE.

$9.99 is very reasonable. A lot of players who've seen other item campaigns have had doubts, but I'm glad you chose to market this at a reasonable level for security's sake, instead of as a collectors item trinket.

Now it offers +80 friggin space... come on...feel obligated to get now...

I wouldnt say theyre like gil sellers. Gil sellers want you to use RL money to buy gil, SE sells you security with an added bonus. You dont have to buy it. For me security > storage.

They accepted our demand for more security for only 9.99$ and to sweeten they went: hey were tossing in more storage space!
