All Active WoW Accounts to Receive 3 Free Days

Nethaera has spoken !

Since the release of the latest patch, Echoes of Doom, we have gone through a series of optimizations in order to increase overall game performance. We've seen steady, stable populations and a flurry of activity and excitement during the Hallow's End event and the latest rumblings of zombie attacks. It's been an exciting time for us as we draw closer to the release of our second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King.

We've reached a point where we feel we can now accurately evaluate the events since the patch release. Though overall downtime has been minimal, players have experienced latency, inaccessible instances, and general frustrations. We are therefore announcing that we will be issuing compensation to accounts in all realms in the US, Oceanic, and Latin American regions. Accounts that are currently active and in good standing will be credited with an additional three days of game time.

We would like to thank you for your patience during this time and look forward to seeing you in game!

Let's see those complainers come out and take back their criticism of Blizzard's handling of the entire situation!

Hey I think that is is cool that they are doing anything at all. Now the next question is when do we get the 3 free days added to our accounts?
Thank You!

Thank you Blizzard for the 3 free days; all this whinning reminds me of some people who want the gov to give them free...everything, free house, free car, free medical, free free free;
But like fronglo said, "This is what separates Blizzard from Sony. In all the time I ever played Everquest, SWG, or Everquest 2 Sony did not ever ONCE offer any kind of free game time after the countless times they screwed things up (Luclin come to mind anyone?). Best we ever got from Sony was a double exp weekend. "
so, lets just say Thank You Blizzard and if we have and SUGGESTIONS, like a patch that lets u turn off the zombies,, lets just submit it to Blizzard and watch them act on it! Happy 3.0 everyone!

I'd much rather have double xp weekend than 3 free days. That's like .25 cents. It's a generous offer, and I was almost always able to play despite issues anyways, but it's still a pretty meek gift.
take back criticism?

Three free days hardly makes up for a couple of weeks of screwed up game time after months of supposed beta testing. I'm not taking back any complaints and continuing to add to it.

If I order a whopper and get a chicken sandwich I'd expect to be compensated in full for the screwed up order. Not throw some ketchup on my chicken sandwich and tell me to be happy I got part of what I ordered.

The majority of the complains have been justified and well placed. Although some may disagree with our complaints, as paying customers we have every right to complain just as you have every right to complain when you don't like something Blizzard does.

reiterating my posts on the Blizzard thread...

Quote:
It works like this.

You go to a restaurant with your friends/family. You pay 15 bucks for your meal (its a nice restaurant). It takes over 2 and a half hours for you to get your meal that should have only taken 45 minutes (server, lag problems).

As you pull out your silverware you find out that the silverware has been "upgraded" to chopsticks (and you have NO idea how to use chopsticks...ie the patch).

As the server removes the cover you find out that after waiting 2 hours and being forced to eat your food with chopsticks that they've made you the completely wrong order. They've given you a burger instead of chicken veil parmesan. You came to this specific restaurant to avoid the burger altogether.

When you complain to the server they tell you that they felt the burger would be more exciting and that you should just enjoy it because they served it to you. (the zombie invasion's griefing and unfettered pvp on pve servers).

They make you eat a quarter of the burger before they abruptly pull it away and shove your chicken in your face. However since you already had a quarter of the burger they 've cut off a quarter of your chicken. Stating that they meant nothing by it and that the burger wasn't prematurely taken away but that it was exactly as they planned it.

At the end of the meal the manager walks up to you and tells you he's sorry everything wasn't as you had hoped and that they'll give you a refund for your muffin as compensation.

15 dollars a month divided by 30 days = 50 cents a day, times 3, = 1.50

We're getting a $1.50 for crappy service, poor customer support, and them forcing a style of game play on us we wanted nothing to do with and were avoiding at all costs.

They still refuse to make any sort of heartfelt or believable apology. They make millions of dollars a month. And all they give us is 1.50?

Regardless of whether or not they LEGALLY are required to give us anything there is such a thing as GOOD customer service.

Have you ever had a bad experience at a restaurant and had a decent manager give you a free meal and THEN some? I have...the manager wasn't at all required to do that. But to keep our business and not only compensate for the losses but compensate for the possible damage of reputation to their business went above and beyond.

This is simply a PR stunt and I'm not buying it and I'm not buying Lich King.

I understand that analogy completely, I've been there/done that with almost every other MMO out there. But what do you want? You can't compare it to a restaraunt without scaling the amounts, as much as you may want to.

Did it make up for the cost? No. But compared to the time (7 days for which you paid 3.43, you received 1.47 in a gesture which shows how sorry they were. A gesture you don't get from almost anyone else in this industry.

What would be the answer instead? You want a whole week added? A rollback perhaps? A free expansion?

What would make you happy that would make up for the frustration?

you hit the nail on the head with your description ekaterinodar!!!

while 3 days free game time is appreciated and a nice gesture, it really does not make up for the all the issues and poor customer service that Blizzard displayed during the patch and invasion event. one of my biggest complaints with the invasion was that after coming out of a battleground, raid, pvp, etc in which you used any pots/elixirs (i.e. Flask of Supreme Power, which on my server is 57g each) after being attacked by a zombie and dieing, whatever time was left on your buff is now gone. I lost 4 flask buffs that way each with almost 1.5 hours left on them. Very poor planning/thinking on Blizzards part!!!

How about all the gold spent on repairs during the stupid zombie thing?

At least in EQ1(Luclin mentioned above) we did not have repair bills.

How about reading the EU forums?
