Jeffrey Moyer, Mr. Allakhazam himself, is sending his DNA into space via NCsoft's Operation Immortality.

Jeff is the founder of Allakhazam.com and President of the ZAM Network which encompasses Wowhead, Thottbot, Allakhazam, MMOUI and Online Gaming Radio. The network reaches millions of players every month for their MMO guides, community, item databases, podcasts and wiki content.

The NCsoft project says the goal is to "collect and archive the very best of what humanity has accomplished by sending a digital time capsule of the human race, including messages from people around the world and DNA samples from some of our brightest minds, musicians, athletes and video game players."

Jeff has been an outspoken and dedicated proponent for players, shaping the games they all love, and has interviewed developers and players across the industry including Blue Oyster Cult's Eric Bloom and MLB pitcher and 38 Studios Founder and Chairman Curt Schilling.

Jeff's DNA is being digitized and will be deposited at the International Space Station (ISS), along with accomplishments of the human race.

When asked what was involved, Jeff said "The process was actually fairly simple. They sent me a kit and I swabbed the heck out of my mouth with a couple of q-tips and sent it back. I ate Italian that night. I hope the space alien who finds my DNA is not offended by garlic."

Digitized DNA of theoretical physicist and writer Stephen Hawking, Comedian Stephen Colbert, Olympic gold medalist Scott Johnson, and rock stars Eric Johnson, Patrice Pike and Stephen Bruton are only some of those chosen to be included in the project. Several players from Tabula Rasa have been chosen to have their DNA deposited as well.

Of course, an opportunity to be immortalized doesn't come along every day. Jeff seems both humbled and excited to be included in such a project saying, "Even the thought that my DNA is as worthy of preservation as that of Stephen Hawking, Steven Colbert and Tracy Hickman, three giants in their fields, is pretty amazing to me. I want to thank NCSoft for even considering me for their project."

In the early morning hours of October 12th, legendary game designer Richard Garriott launched into space, following the footsteps of his astronaut father, Owen Garriott. He is scheduled to dock with the station on October 14th.

Richard is most famous for developing the Ultima series of games, and has worked on Ultima Online, as well as partnering with his company, Destination Games, launching the North American arm of NCsoft and premiering his newest MMO game Tabula Rasa in November of 2007.

Garriott has been training since January of 2008 for his launch on the Russian Soyuz rocket from Kazakhstan to the ISS for a one week stay. His blog says “"Hardest of all was the 'Spinning Chair of Ultimate Sickness.' I can't imagine that I will ever again voluntarily sit in a device designed to make you sick, or ride it as long as I can. Ugh, this is definitely my least favorite part of training!"”

While his trip was privately funded and is his sole responsibility, he's agreed to cooperate on experiments with NASA, and private corporations. In addition he’ll be taking part in educational programs as well as promoting Tabula Rasa.

A member of the X PRIZE Foundation's Board of Trustees, Garriott has been looking forward to his trip for many years. The site following his thoughts and training quotes him as saying "It has been an incredible journey to get this far, one on which I almost gave up when I realized how improbable it was that I’d actually become an astronaut through the same channels as my father. But here I am in Moscow, on the cusp of becoming the first second-generation American to fly in space. Incredibly, in orbit I will join the first second-generation Russian, and we will return to earth together."
