Following yesterday's story regarding the Blizzard splash screen comes a change in the cracks of ice! Today's splash screen shows cracks in the ice that show circular symbols, and the passionate folks at Diablo Fans have some idea as to why!

Why 232309? If we assume that the numbers correspond to the letters in the alphabet we get 232309=WWI ... ring a bell? :-) World Wide Invitational

My guess is that tomorrow we'll see a picture called 09.jpg, then on wednesday 01.jpg ....

if Tomorrow will be 09.jpg = I (if its not, maybe not diablo at all
Wednesday will be 01.jpg = A
Thursday will be 02.jpg = B
Friday will be 12.jpg = L
Saturday will be 15.jpg = O (June 28 WWI 1st Day, Good to announce here also.)
Sunday will be 3.jpg = 3 or three.jpg or whichever. = (June 29 WII 2nd Day, and B-day of Diablo, more better to announce here.)

Today's splash update so far carries this theory to be true! All we have to do now is sit and wait for the announcement! Except that X-Fire had some info that changed within moments. Their screen coverage for Blizzard's WWI now says:

• Blizzard has acquired the Diablo 3 URL
• Rob Pardo and other high level Blizzard developers and team members have hinted at a Diablo 3 game
• along with other Blizzard IPs
• We have a new splash screen
• The last 2 new Blizz games to be announced were in June
• PC Action Magazine is allowed to neither confirm nor deny rumors they posted in their last issue regarding Diablo 3
• Blizzard's WWI takes place this weekend

No one will take the bet that there will be a new game announcement. At this point, it's a given. The question remains - which game will be announced?!
