From bein furious to being frustrated to new hope. This is roughly describes my last week in WoW.

As some of you might have read, in the main wow forum, my old guild disbanded, and some of us got invitet into the server first guild. So far so good. After i´ve gotten a bloody nose and a nice downrating of my thread, i still believe that if you assist in downing a boss you should be considdered, when loot is being distributet.

So apparently word has spread, to my guildleader, that me and my fellow guildwarlocks are at open war. After being on the bench for almost raids now, my guildmaster invited me to talk to him yesterday night on teamspeak. He asked me how things went and that he heard that there is a big stirr-up among the warlocks.

The reason for that is i think that they could play better, especially due to the rather large gear difference, and i did
let them know. Another reason why I was pretty mad at them is because i linked my felguard videos to them and the response i got was something like "learn to play your class" to "don´t you every tell us how the hell we have to play".Mind you, i linked these videos cause there are very few felguard-raiding videos out there especially in endgame-content and i did perform rather good. I even wrote underneath that they should enjoy the videos.

They went postal on me for the videos.

After explaining this to my Guildleader, he told me that i am being abit cocky, and he is right. Believe me i am a nice guy, but i sometimes get rather irascible. That being said he invited to of the locks who were still online at that time to join the discussion. They didn´t really feel good about talking to me at all even though i was ready to make a new beginning. Of course that is up to them how they feel about me.

During the conversation we had, the accused me for posting 2 Threads about how they had to play their warlock into our internal Warlock-Forum. I was like "WTF?!" and asked them want they are talking about. One thing they meant was my Felguard videos, which i just linked so they could enjoy to watch them and, now be prepared to laugh and feel embarrassed for their sake, the other thing was a link from "Canadianpimp", he´s over at the warlocks den and sometimes on allakhazam.com, about "Gearing your Warlock" the treat from him is simply amazing and a great source for all warlocks at any progress-state. So my ill-english-speaking fellow warlocks thought it meant "How to play your warlock" and they got really mad at me for that...Another thing i was accused for was that i had posted some bullshit about them on the US O-boards...jesus, i don´t even know if i can log on to the US O-boards with my EU-Account.

So at the end of the day my Guildleader said it is up to them to decide if i should stay in the Guild or not and that they should discuss the issus, of course they didn´t utter a word for like 2 minutes, nothing, nil, zero...I told them i would leave the Teamspeak so that they can talk...

So now i wonder where i go from here, after 3 nights on the bench and my fellow warlocks hating me...
But i wouldn´t be I if i hadn´t at least one backup plan, muha! (evil laughter)

Reason 2 I don't do raid guilds: I'm a "If I can wear it and it's better than mine, I'm rolling on it" kind of person. If I sit my *** in a chair for hours on end going through a raid, I'm gonna have a shot at the good stuff. I'm not gonna walk away with some gold, some grays and a repair bill. May as well give me a level 1 white that says "I went to Sunwell and all I got was this lousy linen shirt". You're part of the team of killing, you're part of the teaming on pillaging. That's how I see it. The best way to make a new raider feel part of the team is to give them a shot at the loot. Shows that the guild doesn't just have them there for a meat shield. And honestly, if we downed a boss and they were "Oh, you can't roll on this, you're too new", I'd do a /gquit right then. Waste of my time.

They got angry because, they assumed (assuming things can be really bad, especially if you assume the wrong things) i wanted to tell them that felguards specc is best for them. Actually all i did was link the videos and wrote "enjoy watching them"

Other trial members where rewarded loot all the time.

These things didnÂ´t happen at the same time, but what i told my GM happened before that "new beginning thing"
I can know there are many bad players out there, even in sunwell as we speak.

I guess he wasn't allowed to loot on his first raid or two.

What I didn't understand is how he insulted the other warlocks. Was it because he wanted to use his felguard during the raid and refused to listen to the advice of the other warlocks?

There is a reason you don't normally use the felguard during a raid and that is because it will steal aggro from the tank. felgaurds can put out the DPS and are wonderful for the solo or PVP warlock but they have little or no armor relative to the tank and can't take the hits your tank is supposed to be doing. In a raid you need to let everyone do thier job including letting the tanks tank. Many raiding warlocks are destruction using limited amounts of DOT so they can keep from stealing aggro from the tanks. I used affliction myself during a raid and I was having a hard time staying below the tanks for aggro. I had to use soul shatter all the time. I could out DPS everyone but what good did it do when I was always dead. We always did much better as a team when my character stayed alive then when I died right away. I had to learn to hold back on how much DPS I put out. The veteran warlocks helped me to learn how to watch my aggro levels and stay alive.

I would really not care for them seeing it. Actually my GM told me he did abit of "research" on the internet and found a thread where i was talking about our bad warlocks and i said to him that they ARE indeed bad warlocks.
I am never afraid to tell people what i think, this might be bad for me and my personal progress, but at the end of the day i can look at myself in the mirror and know that i have done the right thing.

In the analogy of working for a company... fine let's use that.

In being a member of a guild your generic benefits (such as your pay at a job) is the comfort of playing with a set group of folks. This kind of thing makes instances and questing a LOT easier. (Such as if your job is as a car salesman, working for a dealer gives you a set up to sell instead of you trying to do it solo...)

The benefits of raids is a lot like profit sharing at a company. This is the bonus for the high performers. You don't walk into profit sharing ahead of people that have been at the company longer than you and you don't walk into raid loot ahead of guild members that have been there longer.

At the company, there are folks who built it up, such as long standing members in a guild. My initial description was meant to convey the idea that it is unrealistic to step ahead of the people that made your employment possible (or your getting in on raids).

And if you are 28, then I'm afraid you have more growing up to do. You have the why me attitude of a teenager: eternally ego-centric. Until you see outside of your own experience, you will keep on running into situations that you don't feel are fair, and you will continue to experience friction with others.

Your response to my post is a fine example. You go for the short-sighted response, not even trying to understand the meat of what I said, and heading right for sarcasm.

But hey that's okay. You're the new guy right?

First of all, they made it to Sunwell - they're not bad warlocks. A guild can't carry multiple bad players that far into raid progression. In your post on the main forum, you called this guild "The best guild on the server". How are they the best guild on the server if every warlock in the guild stinks?

Second, if you tell someone (or a group of people, in this case) that you want to make a new beginning, you don't immediately insult them to a third party, even if directly asked. What would have been so difficult about saying "I'm sure they can learn a thing or two from me, and I can pick up some tips from them. Let's give it a shot and in the end we'll all be better for it"? Or are you so arrogant as to assume you're a better player than they are in every single aspect of the game?

Finally, in less than a month, you've managed to:
1) Make a name for yourself in this guild as a loot-piggy (whether deserved or not)
2) Alienate all the other members of your class in this particular raid guild
3) Drag your GM into the middle of the mess instead of biting your tongue and doing what's best for the team as a whole

You're a one-man drama machine. Do them a favor - tell them in /g that you got off on the wrong foot, things aren't working out, wish them well, and /gquit. Move on to your backup plan. This won't end well.

Helping down a raid boss is not a right to loot roll.

Your first paragraph tells me why you had any problem at all. You don't even consider what a guild went through to be able to engage raid targets. People have pitched in a lot longer than you so that the whole (the entire team) even has a chance to get loot from a raid target. The new guy doesn't simply walk into a team that's been going for years and expect an equal spot at the table. That isn't the way it works in the guilds that endure.

The only way I ever hoped for treasure in the situation of being a new cog in an already well-oiled machine was that it might be specific to my class and anyone who came before me didn't want it. The reason you give the longer members this respect is because you should acknowledge their accomplishments for the team.

I always did in any guild I was in, and maybe due in part to that, I always ended up respected too.

The logic of "I helped kill it. I should get a fair roll" betrays a young mind. You will understand one day.

Think of it like this... You joined a company as a beginner. You bring in a customer. A longer serving employee is able to sell the customer a big contract. Do you deserve an equal commission? If you think you do then the world is going to shock you.

thats harsh I dont see why anybody should get pissy about somebody trying to help them, I only get annoyed when (lvl 70 frost mage) some other mage laughs at me and tells me or crap or some other random person. I would say it is because they dont like the fact that you maby better than them that my gess.

Well the mistake you made was that you are new in a very well established guild. You told well established warlocks in the guild how to play a class they most likely been playing for a long time and been working in the guild raids. and you are the one causing strife in the guild.

My advise is to keep quit and get yourself well established in the guild you go in and show threw you action in the raid. Then you can advice ways you may think is better to play a warlock.

I agree with the gm action it easier to let one person go then multiple. wish you good luck.

it seems that my guilds hate me for whatever reason they can come up with, first it was not being 70, then not having my flying mount, and now its not raiding cuz i have a POS computer, but these are not all same guilds, people might think im annoying but still i mean it seems like im always GREAT friends with the GM or Co-GM and so they dont kick me, i swear EVERYONE HATES WARLOCKS!!! bias on a class =classism so does that mean i can call warlocks classified? lol anyways it does seem like no one likes the felguards i told my friend to respec to felguard for lvling and he hates it cuz it cant take damage, i was like use health funnel he was like whats that?! warlocks are the hardest class but thats no excuse for not knowing everyone of you spells, right?

From someone who has 9 level 70's (one of every class) Warlocks are the second easiest to level. The only easier is Hunters (and I leveled my hunter back when mend pet was channeled not instant cast).

I also have a 70 of every class, so I can agree with you about Hunters and Warlocks definitely being the easiest. Actually, I found the Warlock easier than the Hunter... but then again, I prefer them so that's probably why.

that sort of thing happened 2 me

i wuz in BF helpin a friend with a newly respeced prot paly from his guild
thing is he had to pull those imps that u AoE and he didnt LoS them to move closer so i told him he got all pissed at me--->(hunter)i kno cause i sometimes have to trap a ranged mob, besides juts tryin to help right?
