Fan Festival Podcast, Day1

We SO wanted to have done this live, but due to one technical issue after the next, it just truly wasn't meant to be. Instead, we decided to just go directly to a podcast instead of going on air. I'm not sure if we'll go live tomorrow, but at least you get a taste of Fan Festival.

From our booth we set up two towers and a couple of laptops. There, people were able to use the towers to log into Allakhazam to not only post pictures and post on the forums, but to use us to finish the Live Quest (which from what I know, grants you three BCNM orbs in-game; Heros, Heroine, and Mercenary Combat.)

I ran around doing interviews from a few people at the booth! That was fun. The other juicy tidbit is that Pikko, IN, and I talk about the 30 minute interview we had with the devs briefly. Pikko is still compiling the transcript for the whole ordeal, but you will pretty much hear the the specifics in the podcast.

====> I went to Fan Festival yesterday from 11am till the end. Overall the fan festival was decent since Hilton hotel has bigger space and was more comfortable than Santa Monica Pier last year. However, I was a bit not satisfied about the 'special event'. Reasons are as below.

1) It seems there was only 2 new jobs (dancer and Scholar). I was expecting SE to announce the third new job in the special event. Unfortunately, there was none.

2) There was an American band playing Final Fantasy songs. Honestly, I did not like the way they rearrange FF songs. Most of the FF songs they played I could hardly recognize (except the Selbina song). The fan festival was NOT the place to 'appreciating music'. The band should just stick to the original FF songs' arrangement. Luckily, the lady (member of Union Star) played 2 excellent FF songs in piano and saved the day. Otherwise, the special event would be a disaster.

3) Most of the items in site were sold out. Even the $100 Windrust ring was sold out! Only key-chains were available. Also, I was expecting FF T-shirts for sell but there was none.

=====> Some updates I remember SE developers talk about:
1) SE will add the emotion /dance per fans' request. The developer promised they will add the emotion for sure.
2) SE will post a video and some snapshots to give hints about how to defeat Absolute Virtue ( sorry i dont know how to spell ..hehee). The developer said they will post them up AFTER the release of new expansion.
3) Players will be able to sell their items in their own moghouse. Player will need to obtain a special sign to put in their moghouse (which can increase crafting skills GREATLY and allow them to sell items INSIDE THEIR OWN MOghouse!).
4) There are still A LOT weapons have latent weapons have YET discovered by players. Developer gave some examples but I didn't remember. I am sure the offical website will post them up shortly. I saw a picture of 'Death Scythe' on the screen .. it has some speical effect under certain conditions.
5) Chocobo Circult will add 'Crystal Stakes' soon. Players will get chocbo trophies. Also, Chocobo betting will be easier. SE will add a screen concluding all chocobos' skills, strength, weather, and riders' strategies.
6) Developer does not even know what monster is 'Almightly P .... something'. He promised will check about it once he go back to Japan.
7) SE is trying hard to add 'Private Dungeon'. Players will be able to DESIGN THEIR OWN DUNGONS and invite people to play!
8) SE may add LOTTERY in the game.
9) Weakening of the Swift Belt NM.
10) New Challenges for EXPERT ANGLERs. There is a legend Fish with its size almost 3 times taller than players.
11) there is still a lot of background info on the Golbins that has yet to be revealed.
12) There was an incident in N. America that all GMS were evacuated the office due to false fire alarm. As a result, no American GM picking up calls for 2 hours. Those 2 hrs were received by unprepared 'bilingual' japanese GMs. SE promised it will not happen again.
13) There is a special 'spring' located somewhere in the Vana'diel of the past. Capturing a cute monster and release there will give you a 'very special reward'. (hmm.. interesting!).
14) There is a TaruTARU BROWN MAGE at lower jeuno. It masters Digesting magic (Eating)..lol.

Warrior

Ability that creates a benefit to WAR for claims. Something like a MNK counter that also stores TP. Used to help pulling. Instead of creating a new tank job, trying to imporove existing tanks.

Monk

Concept for MNK is to reduce TP given. Possibly adding something to Kicks - either a weapon skill or a battle stance that increases kick attack speeds.

White Mage

At the time of the new expansion - new spell called Repose - a sleep spell. Also effective with scholar sub. Also want to add more teleport spells.

Black Mage

Recognize that skill chains are not happening and then no bursts. They are looking at lowering the resistance rate of skill chains. Also additions to transportations.

Red Mage

Considering magic to allow RDM to move up to front lines.

Thief

New JA "Accomplice" - it will steal a PT enmity and transfer to himself. Used with perfect dodge or to help a mage in troble.

Paladin

Considering a reflect spell to reflect damage.

Dark Knight

Design concept was attacker with magic. More DRK specific spells for use in battle.

Beastmaster

Several new things. 1. Amount of HP with wait will be Greatly increased. 2. New pet command - Snarl - jug pet only order a pet to take all master enmity. A provoke for pets. 3. New pet food to cure all status aliments and loweing recast on reward.

Bard

New songs and abilities. Command to select a single target for a song. Make bard busier by increasing numbr of casts.

Ranger

New ability - Velocity Chuck - ranged attacks will be faster and more powerful and mele will be less powerful.

Samurai

Concept is profession able to build TP. Recent additions made SAM too powerful. There will be some adjustments. Additions may include ability to improve skillchains - such as making them faster or reducing resistance to skill chains.

Ninja

Possible new ninjitsu with sneak effect. Possible new ability which temporarily rduces enmity and then restores it to previous amonunt.

Dragoon

Increase number of actions wyvern takes in battle.

Summoner

New ability. Restore MP by elemental spirits. Ability may also be tied to days of the week and weather. There will be another annoucement on SMN later tonight.

Blue Mage

New monster spells.

Corsair

New rolls for 2 new jobs. Add effect to quick draw where they can charge it like the scholars.

Puppetmaster

Considering new attachments and adjustments to existing ones. New automaton weapon skills.

Thats it for job adjustments.

make a bard busier >.> i wasent aware we didnt look busy running around all over the place.. i barley have enough time to get ballads and mellee songs of between pulling lol.... i hope there good spells.. and being able to single target songs is going to be sweet..

IF you get a chance to talk to dev again, here's a few Questions I'm sure the entire FF Fan base might be interested in knowing the answers to.

#1) Everyone wants to know: Is there another Tank type job coming out?! or they hiding it till another time? ATM we have only 2 "dedicated" tank jobs, ninja and paladin. Granite other jobs could tank but at a high cost to party efficiency.

#2) Corsairs: Will they get new dice in relation to the new jobs?

#3)Summoners: We getting anything new yet???

#4)Blue Mages: New mobs mean new spells?

#5) Was that a younger version of Prince Trion wielding a sword against an orc in your Video's >.>

#6) Reflect spell, True or false, is it coming to play?

#7) will we have to slave through Level Capped Missions on WOTG?

#8) Can low levels get to it and enjoy this expansion or is it all High Lvl material?

If I think of any more I'll post them.
