At the following time, we performed a version update of FINAL FANTASY XI. *The client software was also updated at this time. The client update will start automatically after logging back into FINAL FANTASY XI. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen. Thank you for your patience. [Affected Period] Apr. 26, 2005 20:00 (PST) *Maintenance completion time may be subject to change. [Affected Services] FINAL FANTASY XI [Important Update Details] The following issues were addressed and have been fixed: - An issue wherein the gamma setting would be reset to default after certain event scenes in the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi or the Garden of Ru'hmet. - An issue wherein characters would not turn translucent while under the effect of "Invisible," "Tonko," etc. within the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi or The Garden of Ru'hmet. - An issue wherein certain types of fish would fail to respond while biting the lure of specific fishing poles. ------------------------------------------------------------

I just called the SE hotline and for the first time in 20 tries i got through to them "big surprise". Then when i get ready to unload countless complaints,i only get a recording telling me of the current login issues and then get cut off What's next ? The real problem is that when we all do get to play we will stop complaining and SE will feel like they don't have to do anything about this !!!!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems both today and yesterday. It would be nice if SE could post a message on their official website letting people know there is a problem occurring. But thanks to this site at least I can figure it out. While I, too, am disappointed with all the problems lately.....it is true this is the only real period of difficulty I've had since I started playing when the PS2 version was released. So please, people, try to calm down :)

I just went to POL Plus and found a friend is in the game. I send a msg to him immediately and for sure, he said he just got in!! I am on Fenrir Server. I still have no luck on gettin' in though :[

some people are getting confused about the update date/time. It is wrong on THIS site, but correct on playonline.com. They updated yesterday, there was no maintenance with the update, nobody got kicked off (other than the way too common dc).

Second, as a software developer I know what it's like to have problems, try to fix them, and sometimes make it worse. Yes, this length of downtime on a regular basis is ridiculous, but what is far worse, and in my mind unacceptable, is that ther is NO mention of ANY problem on the PlayOnline site or through the Information button in the interface. At least tell us that you know there is a problem!

I just got this message from a pol TSR:

I recieved the same message. For a "live" chat support it sure seems automated to me. But, that did let me know there were other people having problems as well. Just made me mad that it was supposed to be a live chat support and it turned out to be an auto response.

It's probably a good sign for this game that this many people complain about it being offline.

Whenever WoW has issues, no one posts, since everyone knows what a hopelessly broken pile Blizzard's servers are.

Not to mention, at least when this thing is up, it's 90% lag and bug free.

Come on ppl.What the hell is the problem here.Do you not have anything better to do then ***** about a game that hardly has any problems and when one comes up u complain about how u pay them every month.So get over it if u dont like it stop playin.Because apparently u dont have enough money to play to have to worry about $20 a month or so.Out of the 8 months ive played this is the only real downtime i have had. This is bs, i can't believe a team of developers can be so incompetent! I am a developer of some kind and I know for a fact that I would have been fired before now. I'm seriously thinking about quiting, because of all this, it's been over two weeks of having difficulties.

I myself like meny others have been having major logging in problems. I see they keep doing updates and having us download new things, reading the posts of what they are fixing and none of it has to do with logging in problems! Some ppl who play the game only have a windo of time to play for work, sochool ect.. but when we keep having the problems like we having now it will get more ppl to quit other then the always down search and AH. yay we have new lvl 20 gear that isnt as good as beetle armor who cares! we would rather get to log in and play the damn game then see them fixing the new areas that more the half of us cant axess!

Just sitting here thinking in my crazy mind. I think who ever is doing this might be after the Japanese players. The system seems to always be down durring the prime Japanese hours. Sucks for me cause im in Europe and there prime time is when i get off work. And it never fails the problems are resolved for the American prime time. Wish i was back in the good ole US of A.
