The second beta test kicks off today for My.com's Skyforge, and we got a fantastic giveaway for those hoping to get in and help test. 100 lucky winners will get a beta code that grants instant access to CBT2 and beyond—keep reading to find out how!

Obligatory Information

  • No purchase necessary, but you need to register for a free account with ZAM if you haven't yet
  • We don't care which country you live in, anyone can redeem the code
  • The contest begins whenever this article goes live on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 and ends at 12pm (Noon) Eastern Time on Thursday, March 26, 2015
  • There are one hundred (100) codes for access to the Skyforge beta tests (these are not Founder's Pack codes and simply grant access to beta with no extra perks)
  • One entry per person
  • ZAM staff and their immediate family are not eligible. Sorry, hubby!

Class Changing: Being able to change classes on the fly, so long as you are not in combat and have them unlocked, is a FANTASTIC idea. Not only does it remove the issue of having to make and level multiple alts to try out and use the classes you like, but it also means that you will always be able to fill a desired role in a party so long as you unlocked the classes.



Combat: Skyforge uses the type of combat I simply love in an MMO: action. No more mouse targeting an enemy and mashing a ton of hotkeys to use spells. This style of combat, and movement, really makes the game more engaging and imersive.



God Form: This. This is just fantastic. Over the course of the game you will be able to unlock a godly form and gain incredible abilities, even breaking some conventional rules of the game! That sounds incredible and it's a feature I am really looking forward to exploring.

Invasions: The Skyforge devs have only really teased at this feature but from what we've been told we will be able to help defend Aelion against invasion forces comprised of the minions of other Elder Gods trying to conquer our world. These sound, and should be, very challenging and difficult encounters but it sounds like an awesome experience! The idea of teaming up with my buddies and taking on these sorts of challenges sounds like a ton of fun.

It looks new, and in the current market that's a big plus.

I've tried every major release in the last five or six years, but it seems the MMORPG market's either grown stale or people aren't putting as much effort into their games when they can just do what everyone else does. Skyforge looks like it takes risks, and I don't know if they'll pay off, but I want to try them first-hand during beta, so I can pre-order it if it's good and encourage them going forward.
