Memories of LOTRO

First memory:

My first memory is probably coming upon a spontaneous jam session of musicians in Thorin's Hall, as the main theme of the game was replayed through reeds and flutes. I'd played MMOs before, so the basic introduction didn't strike me too much, but I remember smiling at the sound of fresh music.

Favourite memory:

My first time on a mount, dashing across the fields north of Celondim and marvelling at how much quicker having one made the experience of travelling through the world, with all the lush greens of the world unfolding around me.

FIRST MEMORY I remember walking up to Bilbo's Hobbit Hole and the party tree during the Fall Festival.

FAVORITE MEMORY The very first time I entered Moria and realized everything I read about was even more grand in person and I kept loving it even after I fell off my first cliff and died.

My first memory was as a closed beta player. I met a friendly hunter in-game who helped me get around where I needed to go and showed me all sorts of amazing areas. I still remember back when the cap was 40 in beta and we were dodging drakes in the Misty Mountains.

My first memory of the final version of the game itself is mining in Angmar. I love crafting, and wanted nothing more than to have an Elf Weaponsmith. So I took my character into the southern part of Angmar where spiders and cave-claws hang out (above ground) and spent hours in pursuit of iron-ore, all the while dodging purple mobs that were 20+ levels higher than I was.

My favorite memory. That is a tough one - there are so many great memories, but my favorite has to be seeing Rivendell for the first time. It was, and still is, one of the most beautiful areas of the game. I was spoiled by the movies prior to playing the game, but I had read both The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings when I was a child. Turbine's vision of Rivendell and the Last Homely House were not what I had imagined, but they were great. If there is one thing that LOTRO excels at, it is creating beautiful scenery in which to quest. Rivendell is a prime example of that. It was so exciting to follow the winding path down and meet great characters. Elrond in his library, the members of the fellowship in their respective locations. Arwen standing on a rock outcropping overlooking the path into the Misty Mountains. Glorfindel by the waterfall. Amazing. Still is.

My first memory is realizing how beautiful the graphics were in the game and thinking to myself "why haven't I been here earlier".

My favorite memory is playing with my 10 year old daughter. She plays a Lore Master Minarayen, and I play a Runekeeper Drakuil on the Elendilmir server. She noticed this giant snowman while doing a quest at the Yule Festival. We posed our little fellowship (Minarayen, Drakuil and Luciwen) and snapped a screenie. The shot subsequently made it to the Postcards of Middle Earth segment of the Free People's Press. We felt like celebrities, and it made a little 10 year old girl so very happy.

My favorite memory was when I led over 40 players to take down the Uber Delving Boss after weeks of trying.

My First Memory & Favorite

My First Memory: My first vivid memory was riding into the Shire as my Elven Hunter and looking at all the lovely hobbit homes and the rolling green fields. And in the distance, i could see a rainbow, since it'd just rained and all i could think of was....wow. I feel like i'm home.

My Favorite Memory: My favorite memory was as my Elven Hunter again, sneaking up along the Bruinen Gorge, and along the winding trail going up, at a low level simply because i wanted to see Rivendell. When i finally entered the valley i stopped and looked down in awe, the music played, and all i could do was marvel at the Last Homely Home and rushing inside to see Elrond and take in everything. I still love it as much today.

My first memory is actually starting as an Elf Runekeeper around Celondim after the intro quests and being taken with how beautiful the area was especially at night.

My favorite memory would be finally getting admitted to Moria, I'd been dying to see it since I first started the game, although admittedly I was just as glad to get out the other side after a while.

My first memory is of taking my Elven Hunter through the Intro quest and then being transported to Celondim 600 years later - what an amazing way to begin a game!

Choosing my favourite memory is a much more difficult proposition; however, I would have to say that experiencing The Shire for the first time is definitely high on the list...what a beautiful region!

My first memory of LOTRO is when I stepped out of Archet and saw the beginnings of the world that awaited me. The attention to little details, the sounds, the colors... I felt like I had stepped right into Middle Earth. I was hooked from the very beginning and played that day until I was exhausted from lack of sleep!

So many awesome memories to choose from for a favorite. One of them has to be the first time I ever ran with a group on horseback. It was a roleplay event and after the initial setting we all mounted up and raced from Bree to Weathertop together. There were about 12 of us and it was quite a sight to see all the different mounts and characters running along the way! Some other players even joined as they saw us go by so by the end there was closer 30 of us on Weathertop having an impromptu party! (complete with music, beer and pipeweed of course!)

My first memory is playing through the tutorial and running into Nazgul.

My favorite memory is doing the April Fool's Day Chicken Run in the Ettenmoors the one year they did it and trying to get past all the creeps as a chicken.

My first memory is a little blurry, seeing as I stayed up playing for 24 hours straight when I first started (what can I say, it was just too much fun, I couldn't stop).

My favorite memory is my first Skirmish Raid I went on with my kin. It was mass chaos, but so much fun!

The best memories were my first run through the Shire on my main. What a refreshing way to start an MMO. Delivering pies, investigating missing smoke leaf, being a postman...I loved it and I have taken all my alts through there since!

First memory - I remember making my Hunter in Celondim, and having never played an MMO, I assumed the immediate area was the limits, so much so I farmed the same 3 Rowan nodes for 30 minutes!

Favorite Memory - Leveling through the Gap of Rohan. I was amazed as the Epic story as I fought with Theodred. I was literally captivated, and very excited to watch it all unfold. Turbine gets better all the time at what they do!
