Okay, you may be frustrated, lord knows I am, and you're probably also bored outta your mind waiting for all this nonsense to be done with, but do you honestly and truly despise Verant and Sony? sure we all hate them on patch day, and the 2-3 days after the patch when their fixing all the mistakes caused by the patch, but without verant/sony we would't have everquest at all and then what would we rant about. And last time you dinged, or finished a quest and got a really nice item, I'm pretty sure you werent thinking about how much you hate the company. Okay so they make mistakes, A LOT of mistakes, but go easy on em guys, we all obviously enjoy their game sometimes or we wouldn't be sitting here trying to find a way to play it! Just my 2 copper, hope I didn't offend anyone. =)

Is anyone else having problems connecting to EQ home site. I never had a problem until today

Hi, I recently reformated my computer, then I just downloaded everything I needed to play and for some reason when I get to the patch screen now it says not connected, if anyone can help me that would be great THX!

what really sucks is after camping SOL at local pc store i get home happy as hell!! load cd1=fine
loading cd2=f**ked called trouble loading data3 file called verant they told me it was a buffering prob.. and to copy files from cd to folder on desktop and install from there guess=still f**ked --costomer supports closed and i cant find any info on what the hell to do

ok everyone have problem and its totally useless to try to fix them. there is probably a million of players in EQ and none of them managed to log into luclin anyway so you wont manage to do better then the others just by staying infront of your computer for 10 hour in a row.

-if you uninstalled EQ and tryed to re-install it (like me), you are probably getting the message tellingthat you are not curently onthe internet or that they canot detect your conection or whatever message that you get when you try to enter EQ while you are offline. However if you try a million time in a row it wil leventually work a bit. it will start to download the first file, but incredibly slowly. and it will stop about halfway of the arena file. (about 3% of the total patch). its normal it do it with everyone that i know. The verant employe must be trying to fix those damn download server and must turn them on/off often.

those are about the most commons problems. If you have others, post them.
-if you manage to download the patch file corectly untill the end, you wont be able to play either. as soon as you will try to log, it will give you a "no 3d device found" message. That mean that you curently have direct x 8. to fix this, you only have to update to direct x 8.1 The problem is that after you did so, your patch download will freeze and disappear about at the middle of the patch just like everyone else. there is nothing you can do toenter luclin. but since you will need 8.1 anyway, go download it and wait till the server start to work.

Then, after a quick look at DBG, I find out we cant even run the damn Tutorial!!! It somehow drops all 9 NPCs out of world, and drops you ALL at 0,0,9, then CRASH!

Before you go download DirextX8.1 check to see if you already have it or not first
i found this in EQmanual
To determine what version of DirectX is currently installed on your system:

1. Click on start;
2. Go up to the run box.
3. In the Run window, type DXDIAG than hit ok. This will launch the DirectX diagnostics tool.

I was looking on sony's website and it had a problems page. It had one about patch problems so I chose it. It says that if almost everytime you go to the patch screen, you have to download _eqgame.exe or something like that, then probably have a viruse on your computer. Low and behold, I do have to download _eqgame.exe practically every time. They have a website you can go to. The sony website is at http://everquest.station.sony.com/support/general/patch_program_error_messages.jsp if you want to look at it. Just wanted to help anyone else that might have this virus.
