Let me express what many of you are feeling right now: Arrrrrrrrrgh! Let me in! Let me in! I want my Kitty! *breathe* OK. According to Sony, they are aware of the problems and are working on them, including bringing on more patching servers. Why they didn't think of this before, since this is almost identical to what happened at the original release is beyond me, but I'm sure they want you to play their game as much as you want to play it. Feel free to use this forum to try to help each other get into the game or to just console each other while you wait.

After waiting all day I finally dowloaded all the files... hit the Play button ...and got
No 3D Devices found.
Spent hours checking... everything is just fine and I do have 3D devices... why cant EQ find them?

u need to upgrade to directx 8.1. verant said that if you are using dx8.0 u will get the error 'no 3d device found' like you did. go to microsofts sight, download and install dx 8.1. that should get you past the 2nd step so you can wait for the 3rd problem to be solved, then the 4th, 5th, 6,7,8,9 and so on....personally i didnt really expect to play this expansion the first day of the release because for all the great things verant has done with this game, they are still retarded. being real, i think i can reasonably expect to be able to play this expansion in a month, if not THEN i'll get MAD.

Twas the night after Luclin and all across the servers, not a creature was spawning, not even a giant rat. The patches frantically running in the PCs so fair, in hopes that Luclin on the screan would appear.......

My patcher says that it will be done at 8:21, well it is now 8:32 and it just looks at me, going to get up 4 hours early and try again. Have a good night trying to get on. For those that posted they are playing

ok well I only had to reinstall orignal 3 twice.
However after SOME patching, I am stuck on GEquips3 or something it is a larg file and pretty much crashs half way thru each attempt, that is IF I can even connect in the first place.
Also looks like alot of Canada gets boned on the release of SoL as Well, as not one store in my city has it thank you for so much Fun Verant.

Like everyone else I'm getting the IO errors, the check your internet connection (HELLO I HAVE CABLE!!!!) and the patcher is saying over 2 hours to go till completion... now come on 11:30 PM and it's still this slow. Please just shoot me now, so I don't have to sit here for almost 3 hours waiting to see if I can even see the new graphics with my Voodoo 4 card.

It can only be expected that this would happen to me (just me hehe) but all these people tryn to get on a new expansion its gotta be tough on them but look i put a lotta time into this game and now more money (memory,graphix card,expansion), come on i want this to work plz

I have spent this whole day angry. first i find out i have to spend $200 dollars upgrading my Computer just to be able to run Luclin, and then I go to the store and get, and rush home, only to find that the servers all down. I have been just asd upset as all of you, but it helps to know that im not alone :) EQ is a family. All i can say is i hope they get those servers up soon, and i cant wait to see everyone inside....

If you look in your Shadows of Luclin Game Manual on page 19. You will see that Gary Grobson and Jacob Thornley are listed as the "Gaming Integrity Team", lol. These guys probly worked on windows 98 also.

Speakin of integrity... Have tried everything wasted 8 hours tonight. Downloaded special things from Ecrap website and that screwed it up worse...
lets see um thought I'd be smart wipe it all off and reload Ecrap.... um ******* at TechCrap to help... and what I have learned that they knew of the problems, yet they continue on... sigh I knew I should of never come back to this mess- Sony/Varient dont take it the wrong way but you guys are one F***** up group and haven't learned to much yet well then again gave me 3 free months sorry at the end I think I'll find another game I dont have to have high blood pressure just trying to get into it most of the time. Sigh now it is going down. GREAT!!

its working! i had to uninstall EQ. and i have all the re-patching to do. usually when i tryed to patch i reveved the not loged in internet ,message, but right now im watching my blue bar going up! its aldredy at 25% and if im.................................... no please no...................
