Well I did like all of you. I installed luclin and ran the patcher...and ran the patcher...and ran the patcher...you know what i am talking about constant not responding along with some bs about internet connection...hmm cable modem running almost T-3 speed.....
Anyway I hope that they have it all squared away by sometime thursday as that is when i will try yet again =) Figure i will give it some time to get squared away before i try again. Any advice while i am here about taking down phinny? Need that stupid staff hehe. Take care all i wish you luck with the patch i know i am tired of it for tonight. Night all!

why don't they just get rid of the stupid patch program all together and just keep all the update files independently downloadable on a server so that individuals and mirror fan site servers can download and duplicate those patch files? the reason i NEVER have a problem downloading patch files for counterstrike is because there are so many mirror sites carrying the newest patch files that if one server is slow i can get the files from another. if verant did this they could spread out the I/O operations regarding the patch files and they dont have to spend a dime to do it. then we wouldnt have this current problem. anyone think this is a no brainer besides me?

Yah i am doing ok with the patch part Kinda
But it always missed the .. globaldwrm_chr.s3d
part.. but i can log all the way until you get to your zone ...and then RESET
but i did see something behind the screen 2monitors it had a I/O but that is about all i could see...thourough patch dont work repatching 10 times dont work ugg

After patcher broke, I found xml files in EQ directory.

Why EQ didn't think of that earlier, if players using old IE????

Seems need to upgrade your IE if you got xml parsing error!

You'd think at least one of these egg heads at Verant would at least of the patching woes ahead of time with all the ppl trying to get on at the same time. Would'nt they of been better off releasing the patch to the affiliated EQ web sites as an exe file for peeps to D/L rather than clog their network up?.

Dunno about the doability of it but its an idead at least.

I don't have the expansion, I really don't care about the expansion at this point, because i just started the game. For the love of all that's holy fix my freakin' game purty please. I understand that Sony and Verant are working on it and I understand too, that there are many people that have the Luclin expansion and their ***** are crocheting barbed wire, as is mine. ALL I WANNA DO IS KILL THOSE DAMNED MAMMOTHS...

Ok, I went out and upgraded my RAM to 512MB, like you recommended.

I upgraded all my drivers, and upgraded to DirectX 8.1, like you told me to. I even defrag my hard drive to make a nice home for SoL on my drive.

I tried to find SoL in the stores yesterday, but no luck. I did, however, meet a couple of nice EQ players and talked shop with them. We were really excited about SoL, and had a really great conversation about our adventures in Norrath.

I went all over town this morning to find my SoL box. Five stores, and it was at the one that was my last hope. Why weren't the "big Box" stores stocked, but the little specialty software chain in the mall had it?

I researched on allakhazam's and EQAtlas as much as I could so I wouldn't get myself over my head in a new, unexplored zone.

I waited patiently when I found out that the servers were not yet up, after I had loaded SoL onto my machine.

When the servers come up, you tell me that to check my Internet connection, and that my Hard disk must be full. Hello? I have CABLE, and I cleared out 4GB's worth of games that I don't play anymore since I started playing EQ!

I call you, but your support line is busy.

I call again, still busy.

I go to everquest.com. Hey, there's a download! I download it! I unzip it! I install it! The patcher starts to WORK! Luclin lies before me!

The patcher locks up.

I defrag my hard drive AGAIN. I eat Chinese food and drink sake.

I reboot. I pray. I click on the EQ icon in the place of honor on my desktop. You proceed to tell me to check my internet connection AGAIN. You then tell me that my hard drive is full AGAIN.

Then the patcher locks up AGAIN.

I scream! I rant! I rave! I go to the everquest.com forums and find out a whole lot of people are having similar problems. I even see posts recommending Dark Age of Camelot. Their release went smoothly! OMG, what a concept! I ponder DaoC, but I am not yet that far over the brink. I come to Allakhazam's and find a new thread ESPECIALLY for the $##%^ Patcher! I post on it! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT OF ME, YOU CURSED EVERCRACK DEALERS? I PAID YOU! I PAID YOU! GIMME MY FIX! I NEED IT! I WANT IT! I MUST HAVE IT, IT'S BEEN 48 HOURS!

I collapse, spent. I rest uneasily for a while.

Guess I'll try to patch again...

Just checked my order status of luclin at amazon....said it would ship the 10th!! LOL...CANCEL!!! drive to local STORE and Purchase!!! Doh! ya'd think that there would be better plannin with online retailers like amazon for such an event. oh well...) be on tomorrow me hopes...that is if i can finish da patches...)

Just want to say i think everyone has a right to be angry. My main concern is having to shell out money jsut to upgrade my computer jsut to play even without the expansion i need more memory to see the new modules though i can turn them off. Memeory is cheap but still have to buy a good deal to get up to the recomended specs. Second i am not sure about my video card . I had dell build me a basic system and do not know much about video cards. From what i an tell Verant/sony really blew it on this. First they blew the time the servers would be down then this. I personally think this is unnaceptable for paying customers. Yes it has only been two days and maybe more but still you expect better service than this. But anyway i hope everyone gets on and we can all resume playing. Take care everyone and good luck.

if a kind soul who finished the patch and knows what they are doing could upload the files from the eq directory changed today to a website (one with bandwidth a huge plus would be nice ;) we could all 'patch' then...

if i get mine patched i'll do it. until then..

they made a chat for this before-hand

The part that pi$$es ME off the most is that it has taken me about 6 hours to even find out that this was not a problem at MY END! Verant MUST have been aware of this problem pretty early on - the 1000's of emails in their "Eqtech" email box might have been a slight HEADS UP BOYS...

Yet they didn't bother to mention, admit or advise that there were any problems. And wouldn't the FIRST place we would visit for support be the site? And wouldn't some info prevent us from SENDING those 1000's of emails? And wouldn't it make us MUCH HAPPIER CUSTOMERS?

I'd like to remind Verant --- a DOOZY of a little game called Dark Age of Camelot was released recently and SURPRISE SURPRISE those people actually LISTEN to their customers! And support them! And answer their questions - nicely!

There are many places our consumer dollars can go - and into your little Sony purse is only one of them. But perhaps not for much longer....
