Let me express what many of you are feeling right now: Arrrrrrrrrgh! Let me in! Let me in! I want my Kitty! *breathe* OK. According to Sony, they are aware of the problems and are working on them, including bringing on more patching servers. Why they didn't think of this before, since this is almost identical to what happened at the original release is beyond me, but I'm sure they want you to play their game as much as you want to play it. Feel free to use this forum to try to help each other get into the game or to just console each other while you wait.

Going to kill my boyfriend... sitting on the phone with him for the past hour: He got SoL today for $29. I get mine in 4-10 days for $40. I'm glaring at my computer willing it to work and failing. He's hunting in SoL B with his new skinny **** troll. /SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Actual Boyfriends were hurt in the making of this posting.

I agree bad Amazon! I cancelled my order, and went to my local bookstore today and bought SoL. Doh! guess it didn't matter, shoulda just waited.

Go to the everquest official site.They have links to supported 3d card drivers.You will need to know your model of card though.
Right click on any empty spot on your desktop.Hit prperties then settings.Under the picture of your desktop it should say what monitor you have then the video cards model/make

Ok, I understand bugs. Big, complex program, lots of unanticipated problems, I can forgive that. But the claim that they didn't know how heavy the load would be on their patch servers? I can't believe that. Seems common sense that dang near every active subscriber they had would log in today, starting at about 4:00 to 5:00 pm eastern time and continuing all night. I mean, it's not like we have a choice if we want to play, right? And with all the press about the fancy new graphics, they should *easily* have been able to predict what kind of resources they'd need to make the patch available to everybody.

Or am I crazy?

well i went through all of that crap and i am really tired of it well i tried to get that dumb patch fixer thing to work and well it doesnt even load the thing i thought i skrewed it up but no sony did so now i dont feel bad i have been waiting for the last 6 hours and still nothing it says my patch it ruinning but i dont know maybe it will work, anyway i dont care sony is really pissing me off

I have noticed one poster's comments to be true. If the update screen seems to get stuck, try waiting a bit before 'ctrl-alt-del' on the app, and deleting the partial files, as it does seem to resume if you're patient. I've done this, and most files are downloaded now.

Lets face it, we are all suckers for putting up with this crap.
Are we paying for this or what?
Have we sunk so low that we will put up with this kind of service?
Did they even stop to consider that some of us dont want their stupid Expansion?
They act like "This is the way it is, take it or leave it."
They say we need more memory, we buy more memory.
They say we need better graphics cards, we buy better graphics cards.
I have played this game since it came out. I have gone through 3 different puters so I could keep up with there upgrades. Damn the puter I am on is less than 7 months old. And now I find out its junk?
The EQ peeps have our collective balls in a death grip. And they do as they please with them.
The amount of money I have put out for this crap is just stupid. Now multiply by 300,000.
Thats all they care about. The bottom line.
I just hope they dont raise the playing fee. Hell they could double it and not lose any customers.
Why? Because we are all SUCKERS. Thats the bottom line.

Well from one sucker to the others.

I see on the posts many different problems. I don't even have SOL ,and I can't play. All of a sudden I can't get passed the patcher. It tells me check my hard drive and internet connection. Whatever the problem is. I don't know. I just wanna play. whine complain complain and moan.
Now I feel a little better.

Virus Programs have to be deactivated prior to running patcher... I guess that is so they can trojan your computer...

I love this "less for more" theory. Was pretty well enjoying what they had, knowing that there are those way ahead of my players, seeking new and better kicks. NOW we all get to sit on our hind quarters and relearn all those nail biting, cursing, keyboard pounding skills that we nearly forgot, because we were just TOO BUSY ENJOYING THE GAME !!

I'm not dumping my pc off a bridge just yet, and I might as well transplant the brain of an elephant into a mouse as do an "upgrade" on my pc. So Velious...you're the top of heap for this EQ player until my pc falls out the second story window and NEEDS to be replaced. Uuuugh!!

My question is this.......did they make it necessary that you have SoL installed before the patch would actually download and install properly ? If that's the case, then I get to wait for UPS to enable me to play.......

I think EQ veriant is ******** us again, lets see , how hard is it to tell that they didnt know in advance that the release was gonna be full of bugs, like every thing else they do they ***** you and then take there sweet a*s time fixing it, i think they should refund this months money that we paid to compensate us for there Normal ***** up again, To all that ***** us again, bite me
