How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

A goblin shaman with his mechanical totems, can't wait to level him in whole new old world ;) and pwn some newbs while grinding mobs and stealing fat loot.

I've always been a huge lore geek, so I've been starstruck ever since Cataclysm was announced. With the Lich King defeated, Azeroth's heroes must turn to an even older threat, one that has been brooding and plotting ever since his last defeat. With Deathwing entering the fray and the Twilight's Hammer cult finally stepping into the spotlight, many of the tales woven into Azeroth's lore will finally come full circle. The broken remnants of post-cataclysm Azeroth will be especially interesting to see - but not just geographically. I'm especially happy that Blizzard has finally broken the timeless towns, cities, and leadership that was pre-Cata WoW. Each faction has made incursions into the other's territory in a desperate bid for resources, and there is even rumblings of political unrest, reaching as high as the Warchief of the Horde. These dynamic changes will push WoW over the edge into a new level of immersion - whether you're a role player or just enjoy a good story, you should be excited about fighting the good fight in a whole new world, even as it crumbles - physically and otherwise - around you.

I would say that I'm really excited for Heroic Deadmines. I just remember all the memories I had of running through there as a lowbie and it being my first dungeon expierience and I think it'll be a ton of fun doing it again at a higher level and a higher difficulty level.

I also have heard a ton of really good things about the quest design for lvl 1 - 60 in the next expansion and I'm looking forward to checking that out first hand.

I look forward to playing as a goblin and a worgen, I'm also looking forward to seeing the new Azeroth. Exploring it would be awesome and the sight seeing too. I also look forward to helping blizzard make the game better for everyone by submitting feed back. I also want to see how the new talents affect the classes. 5 major things I'm looking forward to is the sight seeing in Azeroth and the new races. I'm also looking forward to the guild leveling system and the new starter quests and the zones. Also looking forward to see how the terrain changes as you quest.

I am personally excited for the new starting zones. I would like to see them in person and get a real feel for the layouts and designs. I would like to experience things like the worg/goblin starting zones, and the trolls as well. I would also like to experience flying in old world and really just see, for myself, the amazing things in store with cataclysm.

I am a World of warcraft player, I've playing WoW from november 2007 and I want to take a look at the racial skills, I want to test the starting zones of Gobelins Starting and I want to test some racial traits on new clases. I want to play WoW cataclysm But, I appreciate you guys if I am one of the winner ...

The new Troll starting zone and story line excite me the most. Seeing the rift between the Trolls and the Horde with the rise of Garrosh will make for a lot of fun for those few of us that really love playing Trolls (I play Troll characters almost exclusively). I've been looking forward to finally getting to roll a druid now that Horde is getting them with other than the Tauren race. I've always thought Taurens were too big for my taste.

There are many changes that are simply improvements to the game. However, the one that I am absolutely excited about is how they are giving a deep specialization skill at an early level to make you feel like the talent tree you use is even relevant. The true power of this innovation lies in the downright boredom of certain classes and specializations. For example. retribution paladins and frost mages will no longer be pushing one button from 20 to 30 levels at a time... this was I believe world of warcraft's greatest flaw, and now, it will be my salvation. I actually WANT to level certain classes now.

I'm looking forward to is the new Orgrimmar. Garrosh Hellscream decided that Orgrimmar needed a couple of changes. I'm also looking forward to the two new races, Goblin and Worgen. My Death Knight is hated with most of the goblins in Azeroth so its nice to have at least one goblin try not to gank me. The Worgen is quite a twist for the Alliance races. I'd like to see their mounts. I like it how instead they making a new continent they redo a couple. I can't wait to make a troll druid! That might boost the population of the trolls. I never thought tauren were on the holy side. I'm excitied for the new talent trees. My rogue will be more fun than it already is!

I am looking forward to play as a worgen. The new Azeroth. Try seing it from the air and the phasing effects. Try out the new dungeons. I also want to now more about the lore in cata. Mostly the storyline in Mount Hiyal and to Deadmines if there is one. I am also looking forward to see the many changes with the talents and gear. The new models with the monsters and the new bosses.

when some day i saw someone spamming general chat in dalaran with : OMG OMG OMG NEW EXPANSION, i immediately checked it out. The intro movie started and everything looked fine, but then the part of the movie came when i saw .... WORGEN i was like a diabetic in a candy store .... i was thrilled could not hold it in and all the new changes made to the old worlds its all very very very amazing i thought i was gonna **** in ma pants( thats from a song). and yeah Worgen and leveling is what im defenetly looking forward 2.

Well there are many things that excite me in upcoming expansion cataclysm. Like The Worgen and there story how they became Worgen. I would also like to experience the new zone and old zones and see what stories they tell. To play new class mechanics to see what they changed and add to the classes. Also be able to take a peek at the new raids and instances even if they aren't complete. Lastly to help find bugs in the beta, so when the game comes out in stores it wont have 5 million glitches to point everything is impossible to do.

It'll be so cool when barrens and all the other areas wich was kinda boring gonna blow up! Its so nice when u can fly all over azeroth! And all the new skills wich i get to my hunter, like camouflage it will be so awesome! Gonna pwn every1 in arena and bgs tho :P And all the new areas like toll barad and grim batol i cant wait to go explore them!

I cant even describe all that im looking forward to. Well most of all NEW ORGRIMMAR ALKFAASDLASJFLF. SO AWESOME. Also flying mounts. Worgen would be fun but for me im only interested in the starting area. It just occurred to me that everyone is saying the same three things but i dont really care. Also im REALLY looking forward to getting to level in a brand new azeroth. Its like the game was totally renewed and i just cant wait to get my hands on it. Also im another mage eagar to get a taste of those spells :p. I guess another thing would be the chance to see azeroth from a new perspective. For example ive stood around in orgrimmar for hours but ive never gotten the chance to really see it from above and i feel it really changes things. LADADadsaklfjasfsjm i dunno i just get excited and carried away every time i think about cataclysm.

What am i most excited about? Well a lot of things but if i really had to only pick one it would be, how exactly is blizzard going to try and make sure people stay in game. When they said they were going to redo the zones I went crazy. It interest me to see some of the quest I love and know to be transformed into something else I also love the starting zones I see on the web but some I haven't seen I am not as interested in the worgen and goblin starting zones as I am in other starting zones those are the ones the other ones and the stuff after all these starting zones also lore is another thing I as a Player and Lore geek is something I just cant resist learning once cataclysm comes out.

As a player and a person I would be eternally grateful for cataclysm beta keys

I am most excited about the world changes, as i level the environment changes with the new graphics content. It gives Azeroth a living feature. Along the lines of leveling i would love to see the Quest chains and new Items -- not only for the level 80+ but also for a beginner character.
