anyone else getting a message that says patch error: could not update the patcher. currently in use or the user does not have the proper access privileges? pleae help... must....play .............E>>>Q!!!!

Well i'm just glad i also play daoc. at least it works. just sat and tried to get the other puter to patch eq for 6hrs w/o getting my pre ordered version of sol yet.

I got on and patched with no problem. It took about 20-25 minutes on my cable modem. I don't have Luclin yet either. /shrugs

I was running that stupid patch kept on freezing on me. SO i started doing a ctrl alt del and stopping all other programs. I accidentally shut down the explorere and thought my computer was going to crash and all of a sudden eq came up. I was able to create a cat and wondered around for a while only 11 other people in the zone. Then I took a dive off the side of a building (because of laggy server) and died and it locked up on me during reload. Now I am at the same spot you guys are.

This is driving me nuts.

Does this mean we get a free month of EQ? I wonder why they just didnt stick the patch on the cd and let those not upgrading play on. I think of all the money i dumped Veriant's way and wonder why they did not have more patch servers. Seems like they want to line their pockets with money instead of supporting the online EQ community.

I have SOL, but haven't installed it.

I start up Everquest, it brings up the little patching window and then goes on to the patcher. Then 1 to 10 minutes later, with the message "Checking for updated files, please wait.." on the screen, the patch blows up with an "Invalid Operation" error. Debug shows the error to be an "Access Violation".

With thousands of people trying to access the same files, is it any wonder?

Recruiting for a Verant Interactive raid! This probably should have been posted in the allience raid boards since I'm sure most of allies would like to participate. We will meet in Las Vegas at 7:00 p.m. Wed, Dec 5th. Anybody needing port pls be at your local airport by 6:30 pm. Once the groups have been asigned, we will move to the Calafonia zone ent to buff. We will have a 5 person buffing party which will invite you and buff you. Once you have been buffed, camp and go to chat channel "VI Raid". Once everybody is in the caht and rdy, we will all log back on (to keep buffs) and head towards the lair of Gordon, Master of VI. It will should be an easy battle for our rage will be more than he could have EVER anticipated. The only foreseeable problem is much like Naggy/Vox raid, once the mob is engaged, high lvl member will be teleported out of the zone. Rumor has it the lvl limit is lvl 1. Anticipated loot will be artifacts like only the older member have see. A few rumored items are, Commodore 64, Dot Matrix Printer, 300 Baud Modem (hayes compatible of course), and if we REAL lucky, someone will win (with high roll) a TSR80 (hope it's the color model).

I have been planning this raid for a few years now, so hope all can attend.
