How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

The most exciting part for cataclysm expansion was the brand new worgen race, the new model of worgen looks very sweet, cant wait to get a worgen DK. Talent points system changed to 41 points was also very interesting, hope they dont make one class OP or weak. Ladies and gentlemen, the new era has begun, the era of DEATHWINGS!!!

I'm looking forward to all the new quests and zones, as well as the new mechanics and story that goes along with it. I'm hoping that the number of character slots per server will be increased, as leveling alts is needed to experience a lot of the new content as intended. Death to old Azeroth!

I love that they are making classes go back to being original and "easy". WoW has lost a lot of it's luster cause it got so complicated. I love how the new talent trees are being layed out for a more simple layout. I think it's easy cause I have been playing since the first day it came out but for a lot of the people that are new aren't so fortunate. I can't WAIT to be able to fly through Azeroth and just have life be more simple. I can't wait to see and learn the adding Lore to the World. I think there are too many things that are going to be new to list.

the one and only thing im excited about cata is all the new lore and storylines that it opens up. Ill be able to enjoy it to its fullest extent without the rush of getting to 85 and starting the new raid content.

Im playing since original wow was realesed, so have some things im excited about:
1 im very excited about Azeroth and Kalimdor.How world will be like?

What I'm looking forward too the most in Cataclysm is the old world changes, such as gnomes reclaiming Gnomergan and Trolls taking back control of Echo Isles. I'm also looking forward to the newfound leaders for both the Orcs and Tauren. But what intrigues me the most is the changes to the land which really give old world flare again, because I've recently been leveling alts when it hit me that I was getting bored, not with the quests but with the atmosphere itself, so I think the changes to the land are going to be good for both altoholics and newbies alike.


I'm also looking forward to archaelogy, which hasn't been gone into too much detail yet but it looks like an interesting new profession, not to mention it's a secondary one. I'm not all too hyped up about the new races but I like the return of Mount Hyjal, but it being revamped as a questing area that revolves around Ragnaros mainly.

The new race/class combinations are interesting, I remember back in Vanilla WoW when being a human hunter or a tauren paladin was more made fun of then pondered upon seriously. I look forward to leveling a troll druid or a dwarf shaman. And while I'm on the topic of classes I have to say that I like the new starting spells, such as Hunter's starting out with Steady Shot. The new talents please me as well, because as a long time WoW player (I've played since the Vanilla Beta at my uncle's house.)I found picking which talents to choose an excruciating part of leveling, such as the first two talents for a Beast Mastery Hunter, or choosing between Arms or Fury as a warrior.


As for the new races, after watching all of the starting zone footage via YouTube, I have to see that I'm pleased nonetheless (although playing through them won't be as fun) especially with all of the phasing being done. The two zones are a great deal better then the Blood Elf and Draenei, as you actually know how you joined the faction.


One of the things that I am not looking forward to, however, is the return of pvp titles, I liked sporting around my "Centurion" title on my warrior, so it makes me sad that I won't be among the only vanilla pvp'ers on my server. Another thing that should be tuned down just a bit is the stat jump, in Hyjal alone, one piece of green armor is better than tier 10, such as a chest piece with 500 strength.

With all the new and cool thing to do in Cataclysm I must say it will be AWESOME to go back to northrend and SOLO the Lich King!!! If the Lich King is too tough maybe go back and solo Naxxramas or Trial of the Crusader.

What I am looking forward to the most is Death Knights! I'm interested in their new rune system. I've been a blood tank for the longest time, and to hear that Blood spec will be THE tanking tree is making me anxious to get to test out the new dk tank.

I have played the game since it came out and I can not wait for the old world to be destoryed and created into a new one. It gets boring when you see the same thing over and over again and now that they are re-doing the old world and allowing you to fly there I just can't wait. I also cant wait to be the goblins I love all there gadgets and gizmos. I also can not wait to see what it's going to be like to be a spriest in Cata I love my class now I can't wait to see how much I will love it in the new world. I also can not wait to see what all the starting zones are going to be like, and what the Troll captial city will look like.

I am most excited for well... Goblins. I'd love to see what little changes they did with revamping the classes and the talents and hopefully re-rolling a Shaman will be a lot more fun, especially a Goblin one. Mainly to just re-roll and revisit Azeroth and see the changes between zones and quests and if given I would like to transfer my Rogue and see the new zones. :D

This game has been fun and leveling my shammy and learning elemental was amazing, I've seen some things on youtube and I'm most excited for the earthquake spell. I'm hardcore PvP on my hunter and seeing earthquake excites me and makes me want to Shaman PvP so I've been trying it out and I think that earthquake would make it 100x better than it already is. And the new AoE heal also looks AMAZING I must say :)

Though the Cataclysm causes a major shift in the world of Azeroth, it also causes a complete shift in the game play of World of Warcraft. I truly can not wait to experience the thrill and exhilaration of; the complete upheaval of the Talent system, fighting some of the greatest enemies known to World of Warcraft (and a few who we already fought "Molten Core was merely a setback?"), and overall just being a part of the incredible experience of Cataclysm and giving feedback to help improve the game so that it will be the best that it can be once it reaches the public's hands.

This game has always had a considerable draw to me and has made many lasting friendships out of here finding like minded people that love this game that was created. Being in beta would allow me to experience things and use my somewhat odd out of the box thinking help improve it while still enjoying it and hyping more people up that might be on the fence still. Other reason is I love my enhancement shaman and being on the ground floor for improvement of that class that has needed some substantial love would be a benefit to everyone that plays or has wanted to play that class and spec.

I am looking forward to Exploring the new zones of Azeroth and the revamped old zones as well.The changes to the starting area from videos i seen are amazing and the added on lore is sick.I read all the books and spent hours on wowwiki. The fact is I cant fact to make a worgen druid and she the changes of wow thanks to cataclysm. My first character was a hunter and i cant wait to see the changes I might start playing him again.
Goblins are cool but a bit weird still great story line from what i seen from OMFGcata on youtube.

The abundancy of "holy cow!"-jokes.
Guild Progression - making a guild-invitation more special and having more dedicated members.
Deathwing encounter - finally taking on Ragnaros at full power - underwater instances - more lore on the ancients through raiding!
Flying across Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor - remade.
Creating a Worgen and a Goblin and using their unique mounts and feats.
Level-, gearscore- and new achievement-competing with my friends!
Talents remade - unique talent builds with personal preferences.
