At the following time, we performed a version update of FINAL FANTASY XI. *The client software was also updated at this time. The client update will start automatically after logging back into FINAL FANTASY XI. Please follow the instructions that appear on your screen. Thank you for your patience. [Affected Period] Apr. 26, 2005 20:00 (PST) *Maintenance completion time may be subject to change. [Affected Services] FINAL FANTASY XI [Important Update Details] The following issues were addressed and have been fixed: - An issue wherein the gamma setting would be reset to default after certain event scenes in the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi or the Garden of Ru'hmet. - An issue wherein characters would not turn translucent while under the effect of "Invisible," "Tonko," etc. within the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi or The Garden of Ru'hmet. - An issue wherein certain types of fish would fail to respond while biting the lure of specific fishing poles. ------------------------------------------------------------

That was my point. It doesn't say 20:00 as a completion time.

I don't understand something. Why are people telling others to shut up? Honestly, who in the hell are you? I am 100% positive none of you would say anything like that to the person's face at all.

Beyond that, if someone wants to complain, LET THEM COMPLAIN. It doesn't hurt to vent frustrations. In fact, from a psychological point of view, IT'S HEALTHY TO COMPLAIN!

Maybe I should just shut up then. It would seem ok for complaints to come about from complaints if complaining is healthy. It just seems stupid to me. I am complaining about complaining about complaining.

Ahh forget it! I do feel healthier tho.

Talk is cheap in the first place and even cheaper behind a computer. It makes you look stupid and gay sitting at a computer trying to be threatening to someone that's probably thousands of miles away anyway.

Maybe in your neighborhood you can get away with a smart mouth. But, I live in the South Bronx, NYC. In your neighborhood, your little barks may get you funny looks. But, you will wake up the next morning. In my neighborhood, your little barks will get you bitten and you may not wake up for a few days if you get to wake up at all.

To you, talkin trash is about balls to back it up. Throw a few fists and wait for the cops to break it up and let you spend a night in jail. To me, talkin trash is a life or death situation and you may not be the only one who gets it.

So like I said before, 100% of "YOU" wouldn't tell others to shut up. Next time I will be more clear who those "others" could be!

K, its about 3:57 here in Ontario Canada, and 20:00 is 8pm. Now, theres a 3 hour difference from the coast to here in Ontario, so i figure POL will be back up at 11, for those of you whose time is almsot 4 atm. ><

doea anyone have any clue to what time this will end, has anyhting been said by POL as to what is going on? is this an update or is this a DDoS attack? ive tried to log in several times over a 8 hour period with no success. its time to leave work now and yay i finally got something done today :) thank you hacker's now i can blow off the rest of the work week !

pol is down, this problem has nothing to do w/ the update, and everything to do w/ the DDoS problems SE has been having. a friend of mine downloaded the update and was able to log on and level war from 6-9 before he went to bed. this is not and update issue....

This is a funny thread though. Usually intelligent and reasonable people are joining the bandwagon and actiung as if they have never played any other game of this type and think their $15 a month is for a License to ***** Beyond All Common Sense.

Believe me, if this game having horrible issues for one week every 6 months is the worst thing that ever happens and makes you feel justified in making half page posts about Rising Up to Make the Man Listen, you are either morbidly detached from reality, have waaaaay too few things to worry about in life, or have never dealt with Blizzard Entertainment.

Wait a second did you say "free month"? I never got any damn free month. Anyways, I've got a few things to say, and suggestions for those who quit FFXI...

If you quit FFXI, theres a wonderful game coming out, MMORPG, called Phantasy Star Universe. Supposedly, the character customization (for us PSO veterans) is not the same as the last one. It gets VERY detailed (Quoting a friend: "You can apparently even change bosom size and firmness for girls...") Also you can double wield in PSU. PSO I II III for Gamecube were wonderful, and its also about $13 a month, so it'll be a pretty good trade to try when it comes out (Around this winter)...

As for the "hacker attacks", I think they're just trying to rip us off and make themselves look like they're "defending" us. Well, DDoS stands for "Destributed Denial of Service" (I think thats right. I looked it up.)

So, if FFXI is getting all these "DDoS" attacks, then why can we still play, loging, logout, etc when they're happening? We only can't get in when they're updating and doing maintenence.

Oh well...lost my train of though. XD

PSU is gonna flop.
I HATE admitting that, but after all the BS with PSO, its gonna keep a LOT of people away.
I loved PSO, but I gave it up for FFXI after 3 of my friends and I were corrupted by our newly-aquired, legit purple rings. If I get a legit item, I expect it not to fry my data.
Sega gets bored too quickly ::cough::thatnewshadowgame::cough:: and they won't care about the PSU servers after the 5th month. Fingaz and his buddies will have the game hacked within 3 weeks, I guarentee it.

Where did you find half of this information on Phantasy Star Universe? I am intrigued, admitadley I haven't looked into it for a month or so so I might have missed an important update on it's status.

It's at times like this I feel like braving the realms of the Game Cube's PSO servers and playing amongst the masses of hacked mags and duped weapons.

I agree... I used to play an online game called The Realm. When they had service problems, they credited your account the time lost... i really really think after this month SE needs to consider that or they will have some seriously pissed patrons...
