Let me express what many of you are feeling right now: Arrrrrrrrrgh! Let me in! Let me in! I want my Kitty! *breathe* OK. According to Sony, they are aware of the problems and are working on them, including bringing on more patching servers. Why they didn't think of this before, since this is almost identical to what happened at the original release is beyond me, but I'm sure they want you to play their game as much as you want to play it. Feel free to use this forum to try to help each other get into the game or to just console each other while you wait.

Reposting yet again!!

A class action suit has been started today against Sony / Verant. If you are a player and purchased the SOL expansion and were not able to log in today, you can join the suit and possibly get reimbursed for the cost of the expansion and this month's monthly fees. All of the current 400,000 plus subscribers are invited to join.

ofi-andy@pacbell.net. Please use the subject line "Sony / Verant Class Action Suit" in your emails. Andy is the lead attorney from Llora, Trillo and Scrotus partners LLP.

Although we all enjoy the game, the latest actions from Sony / Verant in regards to this expansion are nothing less than breach of contract. Please join us in the fight to keep these corporate giants in check.

If nobody was able to sue FunCom after the launch of Anarchy Online, good luck pulling it off agaist Sony ;)

Seriously, while we may rightfully be disappointed in the troubles with patching, and we certainly are justified in being annoyed by the ill preparation by Verant for this launch, going so far overboard as to take legal action is just plain silly. Don't like what Verant has done? Cancel your account and play something else. There are lots of great games out there, online and otherwise. The last few days have given me a chance to catch up with some greatly neglected pieces of my console library, among other things (ever played Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast? EXCELLENT game.) Also just about finished with The Hobbitt now, so I can go into the Lord of the Rings movie and know what's going on :)

Sure, I miss my EQ too. But it's just a game. Find something else to do, for crying out loud.

By just reading what these people say I was disconned 3 times while EQ was running that stupid patch. Some servers won't allow so much time of downloading it is so unreasonable to make this change. So I guess after 126 days of downloading I might get to play. EQ please don't chare me all stupid downloading.

OK guys and gals I too was in the woes of anguish when all of a sudden lo and behold IT FINISHED PATCHING!! let me tell ya folks, I been doing this click the damn icon game since I got the SOL at 9am or so it seems, anyway it is WORTH the wait!!! I have all the recomended requirements so I speak from that, but let me tell you this is great! patience is a virtue in this one.

Ah yes, but if you don't have the right kind of video card like me you get on and get these damn balck boxes. In the support room people are cancleing accounts, laywers are checking their books to see wether they can sue Veratn. If you don't meet the requirements. don't evan bother logging on :\

It's a game folks. Verant and Sony are gracious enough to provide us with a service as entertaining and generally (usually) reliable as EQ, and what does the retarded majority to in a time of crisis? ***** like 3 year olds in a toy store. Got one thing to say to that: "Wah, boo f***in' hoo." You people act like you're trying to kick a heroin habit. This isn't a job, it's not a way of life, not a religion, it's a goddamn game. Get over it. Go outside. Get laid. I don't care, just stop cluttering places where someone might have some useful info on when we might be able to enjoy EQ again with your self-gratifying and ultimately childish temper tantrums.

(P.S. I play the friggin' game, so don't gimme that BS)

I haven't been able to get my pather going since thursday, there was a small patch late at night, and I got LDed... tried to get back on, but the patcher keeps giving me an error, is this the same problem? Or is mine a touch different?

I just finished download all that crap. And guess what? <No 3D decives found> Apparently, my GeForce2 card is not a 3D device. Strange.... it worked fine before Verant messed up EQ.
The link provided to the updated drivers for my OS takes me to the Detonator 23.11 site. I've had those drivers. They are much slower that the 22.50 drivers I use now. They also cause flickers in other games. What a load of crap.

I can't even get it to start patching WTF is up with that? I get the little "Connecting..." bar then Unable to connect to blah and blah...grrr gunna puke I want to get in....grrrr....

I bet they are doing this on purpose so that they see how much we are junkies and can do this to us more often to make us FREAK OUT!!!

Do not forget the daily emergency patches they will be shoveing down our throats the next month due to sort commings in the software designs and due to the fact they rushed to get SoL shipped on time. Had they only looked to thier past two exspansions they would have realized this would happen again. Point being: THEY SUCK ***!!! And are never prepared and thier guides only use is CR's other than that they are retarded to the game. I observed a guide go from 20 to 50 in one day and claim he earned his exp... Yeah my ***. Well I'm ranting

Well, with my brand new one month ols d pc i don't see my Nvidia Vanta 16mb card on the list =( I downloaded the latest driver and everything from the nvidia website, I think Im pretty much screwed, btw is it at all reasonable to expect verant to freeze billing if you cant play for a month and a half because everytime they do a patch for marvelous new graphics and wonderful play time lands they drop the servers for 12+hours more? ive played EQ for 2 months now and this happens every single time they do maintenece or patches...are they retarded? Can i get a job at verant, I dont know crap about programming etc but im assuming they dont either at this point =(

WELL THIS IS A SORRY EVERQUEST PLAYER THAT JUST WANTS TO PLAY YEAH I WANT TO SEE ALL THE NEW SICK GRAPHICS AND EVERYTHING BUT I JUST SPENT LIKE 30 DOLLARS TO PLAY THIS GAME AND NOW THERE IS LIKE 400 THOUSAND PEOPLE ALL TRYING TO PLAY IT ALSO SO WHAT NOW THE PATCH WONT WORK WELL IF THERE IS REALLY 400 THOUSAND THEN I DONT EVEN THINK OLD BILL GATES COULD FIX IT IN A FEW HOURS SO I WILL JUST TURN THE TV ON FOR A FEW MORE HOURS AND WAIT TILL ALL OF YOU GET TIRED OF HITTING RUN PATCH EVERY 5MIN AND THEN EVERYTHING WILL RUN SMOOTH AND I COULD FINALLY PLAY THE STUPID GAME THAT I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ON.
