Look, for guy's like Draggonlord who obviously have gotten everything they've wanted in life when they wanted it waiting a little extra time for mantanene is hard, and will call it incompitence. just try to remember that something of this size, as said before, could take days if you where working regular hours (say 9 to 5). Yes these guys have stayed up all freakin night to make sure it's done in one go.
Also to the idiot who posted about sending an update through the mail, it's a server upgrade not and update to the game.
Just be glad your not one of the fools still playing WoW and have to wait double the said time for updates nevermind upgrades (I'd call THAT incompitence.
As for UK users like me who imported and wouldn't have got a GMT time, it should be finnished around 10am (9:40am now)

I don't get everything I want nor do I expect to. I'm not even Talking Mainly about this Server Update I'm talking in General, It's people like you that alow company's to get away with practices of not providing what they say. As I've mentioned It isn't just this it's in general that I consider them incompetent. You don't tell me that your going to sell me a game and I can pay you XX.xx amount of dollars to play it 24/7 and then not let me do that. Heck I don't even expect it to be up 24/7 persay but to loose a month a year thats just down right silly.

No Contract? go tell that to your Telephone Company or ISP anybody you pay a monthly fee to for services. Gawd why do they let kids post.

anyone know if a NM that pops just b4 maintenance will still be there when maintenance is over or will it despawn b4 then?

Technically, the servers don't exist at this point. When they're restarted, so will all the NM's spawn times, meaning you'll be waiting 2hrs for lizzy etc...

hi everyone

will , for me i really think i should slow down from 24/7 playing FFXI and let me tell you why...

first of all : general failer in the connection for my ISP for 2 weeks prevent me from loging there and lvling my thf 68 T.T , so all i can do is , log getting R0-200 max , really slow playing , search failed ,boom DCing , farming beehive chips and lvling my DRK and PLD to 10 =P

when i gat the massage about maintenance i was like omgwtf , we just gat the update ( since i only live in the game and real life is not there anymore ---> shift delete <t> you can have this )
but for me i said ... mmmm oh will np its from 8 - 2 so 6 hours XD , i waited until 2 then nother happened , then i noticed its not AM or PM its 24 hours system XD

btw 0800 = 19:00 my time , and 02:00 = 1300
i cant say more that i really counted every sec , couldnt sleep more then 2 hours so far

i'm really need to do something about that 3 weeks for the university and i dont wanna fail XD

btw , if there new server can use the old hard drive then its really easy thing , just plug and play =P no need to transfer any data / the operating system
but if not it will take time , and if i were tn there postion , i'll start transfaring data while sitting the new server ( if there is 2 rooms )

will i need to stop and wait for the update to download it ( if there is any )
i dont wanna wait for 13 hours again ( using ADSL with 4 Mbps link

Well it seems that everyone has the same problem : u enter your password, u cant connect and the Retry button has disappeared lol

If you goto look at the Vana'diel LIVE! it shows them personally in game testing areas and when they log out you see their office and out the window into tokyo.

Excuse me but if its to be 2:00 PDT and there is a 3 hour Diff. evidently backwards wouldn't that be 11:00 PM or 2300 hours?
