    Much too soon!

As a beta member I can tell you this game is not ready for release! Two weeks? Not a chance to fix it. I'll wait 4-6 months before I buy!

I have an EQ2 beta account and have tried on a number of occassions to login - all of them unsuccessful. I can patch, but when it starts to load up my PC just reboots. The EQ2 compatability checker say my PC is fine.

It doesn't matter how good it looks or plays, as far as I am concerned it is rubbish. I won't be wasting my cash on it.

Going by the EQ expansions - GoD and OoW - SOE will be nowhere near ready to release it on 8th November.

Mind you just because they are shipping the CDs doesn't mean that the servers are ready! They just want to get your cash.

I've invested too much time in EQ. Don't want to start virtually over. They should have a significant inheritance both with material goods and player statistics.

Very curious as too what will actually happen with EQ over the months and years. SOE has promised to keep it going, but will it atrophy on its own? Perhaps a good thing or two will come out of it, like a major drop in market price for those Muramite Runes.

ok think about it. if you had 2 million people paying you 12.99 a month and buying every shytti expansion that you thrwo out there would you want them to quit? NO! you take the billion s of dollars you made from the first most sucessful game ever and then make a second most sucessful game ever with the same name but a totally different idea. the name EVERQUEST2 was actually not going to be the name of the game because it is so different from EQlive but they did it as a marketing strategy. well let me rephrase that, after a year of production they werent sure if they could still call it EQ2. it started as EQ2 but they wanted to change it. ok next, EQ2 is a game designed to attract NEW gamers as well as old EQplayers. most people that play EQ won't switch to EQ2 but they will still play it. they spent millions and millions investing in this game and they will for sure get it back. this game is the next big thing, there is nothing better coming out for years to come. flame all you want.

Completely unrealistic. What are you going to do, start out at level 50? Anyway you look at it, it'd throw everything out of balance right from the start.

Besides, they don't want people to quit EQ.

Same here... I've only been playing EQ for about a year now and don't want to start over! I too, am curious as to what will happen with EQ... Will I still have my friends to group with? Will I still have as many people to make new groups with? Will I be able to find enough people to help me with my epic? Should be interesting over the next few months...
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 25 2004 at 4:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I, for one, will not be playing EQ2 for a while. It seems to me (from what I've read on message boards around the net) that it still is full of bugs, lag, etc. I'll let you guys buy it and have all the frustrations of a new, buggy game all to yourselves. I'll probably jump into EQ2 in 6 months or so, just enough time for SOE to get things straightened out... If that's possible...

Not to diss EQ or EQ2... EQ is going strong after 5 years and is still buggy/laggy. Then again same was starwars galaxes when it was released but its not half bad now. My comp wont handle EQ2 *i'm signed up for beta and played the game twice so far... both ended with my comp crashing* so have fun in teh new world.
