How to Win
We have a thread in the General WoW forums for the contest entries. All you have to do is post a response in the thread that states what you’re the most excited about in the new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. For example:

  • Playing as a Worgen.
  • All the new changes to old Azeroth. I can’t wait to see what it looks like!
  • The new talent changes. My class is going to be OP. QQ moar newbs.

We’ll be collecting entries for the next seven days, and on Monday August 2nd, 2010, we’ll be announcing all fifty winners of the giveaway and we’ll then send you your beta key for Cataclysm! It really is that simple. Just submit the part of Cataclysm you’re most excited about, and you're golden!

 

Please Note: You must enter your contest submission at the designated forum thread. Any comments on this article will not be counted as submissions.

 

Additional Note: Both Tankspot and Wowhead will be having their own beta key giveaways in the next few weeks, so make sure you check out our entire network family for all of your chances to win!

++ If you're an AddOn author WoWInterface has almost an unlimited number of keys to give away.

Rules and Qualifications

  • In order to use the beta key, you must have a WoW account in good standing.
  • Posts in the contest thread that are not contest submissions will be deleted.
  • Users may enter more than one Cataclysm item that they’re excited about, but only one entry will be counted per user.
  • We reserve the right to remove entries if we feel like you're not properly participating in the contest.
  • The contest begins on July 26th, and all winners will be announced on August 2nd, 2010.
  • The fifty (50) key winners will be drawn from the pool of eligible posters at the end of the entry period.

What i am really looking forward to is probaly the lore, what happend to undermine?? what stormwind do in cataclysm, and Gilneas. I think Blizz have maid a overnice zone for Gilneas. And i also wanna see the lore behind Deathwing and Thrall.
What will Alexstrasa do in catacllysm?

I also love the new water effects and Sun beams. I read in the Mount Hyjal post in the Cataclysm site that maybe Malorne will return. I realy want see it, i am big Night Elf fan.:)

But the first thing i will do in Cataclysm is to take up my Fly mount and see the chances of Azeroth and the new Epic quests. I hope there will be a kind of Battle for Undercity quest in cataclysm.:D

Then there is ofc what the Burning Legion is doing in Descolace.

Looking forward to seeing how much the Hunter class is going to change now that it's using Focus instead of Mana. Then secondly how the old zones are effected. Leveling in those again will bring back memories =)

Revamped Zones!

I can't wait to play through the revamped zones, and learn how the story has progressed in each zone.

Getting the "Loremaster" achievement was both hard and fun, but it was worth it. I can sometimes be surprised how much you can really learn about the enviroment and their NPC's by reading through every questline. Also managed to complete some quests I had never done before. It makes the game much more immersive to experience.

Now with Cataclysm I can't wait to see how each zone has changed, what happened to the NPC's who were there? What are the new conflicts and why?

To me, playing through the quests of the game is like reading a book, and I can't wait to experience the changes that has happened to the old world. Yes I'm a Loregeek ^^

I am mostly excited about the new upcoming changes onto Azeroth. For someone like myself who been playing since release.. This will bring new life into the game.. Talent trees being redone which I'm loving since I main a mage =).
Also excited by the fact the gear stats for each class are changing mage no longer will need to use spirits.

Might as well call it Wow 2.0 since it'll feel like a whole new game.. Can't wait to make more alts and relive wow lowbies zone.

I think what im looking forward to most is the new system for cities and stuff you are only with people that are as geared as you are that seems like it would make the game run much smoother. My second favorite thing would be the new changes im so excited to see what everything looks like and i know ill be exploring azeroth for days on my flying mount :). Please choose me for a beta key i would really appreciate having the chance to test it.

I have been trying to get in the Beta so that can play and tryout all the new stuff but I want to try out cata so that I have somthing to look forword to when go to gamestop and BUY Cata and becuse if I dont try it out to see how it is going to be I will wait to buy it knowing that I have 2 80 and I have been waiting and every hour I have been checking my eamil waiting and hoping that I would see that there was an Email from blizzard But nope sometimes I fall asleep at my PC looking at my inbox hoping that I would get an email saying CONGRADS you have been invited to Enter in our world of warcaft Closed Beta but know I wanted to try out the goblin's and worgin's so if i get this key I will love this site I maen I will make this site my home page and will so happy if you give me a key so I can stop looking at my inbox and start looking at all the new stuff in cataclysm and I could also remove my post in The "No Beta Invite Yet" Club and move out of the normal Cataclysm form and move into posting stuff in the cataclysm BETA form and i never say this but Will you please send me a beta key that is the only thing I will ever need is the World of Warcraft Cataclysm Closed Beta Key I would like to to tank you for reading my post and hope you will think about sending me a beta key.

I've been playing since vanilla with no break and I have never been more excited for the game, especially since the game is FINALLY going back to it's orgins; Azeroth! I cannot wait to walk the white sands of Tanaris, hike the lush green forests of Stranglethorn Vale and climb the snowy mountains of Winterspring. However, there are going to be so many new perilous adventures with the Cult in Grim Batol, the massive underwater abyss, Vashjr; and most importantly BLACkROCK CAVERNS!

Being able to experiance all of these new features with my guild and my friends is going to offer an undless amount of fun for a very long time. My character of choice for the expansion you ask? A brave and stout female protection warrior! The new abilites look awesome and phenomenal and I do feel that warriors(if not all classes) will definitely be at their strongest point they've ever been. Blizzard is really doing what they do best, creating the best game many of us have ever experianced.

There will be harsh times ahead, oh they will come, the sundering will be massive; but Im very confident that all of us are willing to heed the call and rise to the occasion.

what im looking forward to most is that they are not creating a new hub city or it has not been announced. and since the content will be in azeroth or the new azeroth that means it will be populated again. all blizzards hard work on zones can be appreciated once again in a whole new perspective and not everyone will be in one big laggy city without an auction house. cant wait!!

Oh, I am SOOOOOO wanting to try the new hunter abilities!!! I have been running a hunter since day 1 and my stable is full of spirit pets. It would be AWESOME to copy and see them all out at once!! Please give me that chance!!! Choose me for a key as I have never been in a WOW beta but have played since mid 2005. The underwater city is my second wanna see and I can't wait to try new cooking recipes!!! Cookies for all in beta if I win a key!!!!!

well what i would have to say is 1. the worgen because who doesn't want to be a werewolf kind of thing and how you start the quest line for it it looks cool how you can turn in and out of a human so its like two races in one o.o 2. flying around it wound make everything so much easier to do quest and the most important pvp kill horde or the alliance so you can get to them faster of find the find them with out them knowing that you are waching them kind of starker like but still honor points :D 3. the new raids and dungeon like i want to real see what thay did with Deadmines and shadowfang keep thay said something about the heroic classic instances that sounds cool to me because i love Deadmines i always run my low bes though it and for the raid i want to see deathwing how you kill him and what he does and for raid and dungeon what kind of new gear thay drop what thay look like and do .4 the new pvp battlegrounds i love pvp like one of the new one is twin peak i think that look cool because of how blizz made it look like the setting because like the how thay put detail into it make look look more cool to me i think it may be like arathi basin but i dont know and the othe is gilneas i think is a bg butt i dont know what that going to be about i cant wait to find out ('''\(o.o/''') 4. stormwind and orgrimmar i seen a video on youtube and thay made to so much bigger like it is way better then want it used to look like but i may get lost in it :l 5. the goblins city and race because the city like like a race track that really cool to me because i like waching the race a stuff and for the goblins thay look cool and i seen the dance thay have lol its cool because thay got the for the females the beyonce single ladies dance and the guy got soulji boy tell em crank that dance :D thats cool. I would tell you so much more but that would take hours and i already been here for 1 or 2 :l but that tell you i real want this and die to play it so i hop you pick :)

I'd like to state 1st of all, ive been playing wow on and off since vanilla, ive never been able to beta test, but currently have no life and all the time in the world on my hands and would devout a mass amount of time to beta testing

What im really excited for in cata honestly are the new talent trees, they just look so much better and well worked out even in beta form, I would like to see how it affects MY DK tank which im super stoked about and how lvling a new character would feel now that each talent actually means some massive improvement in skills.

I on another note, i am desperately looking forward to this being an overall better exp pack than WOTLK there just wasnt enought spark like BC and this looks like the spark we need to see wow threw to all us major end gamer freaks out there :)

I'm excited about Cataclysm because this expansion is based more on end game content than leveling. I love raiding and I think that these new raids are gonna be better than any before them. Also, I am excited that zones are getting changed up, so that leveling may be a little more enjoyable. (Also night elf mages FTW!)

I am addicted to the hunter class, it is a class that will no longer have mana, and not wait to create
a globin from the beginning and see the new quests, scenarios, instances, from lv 1 to End ... I hope to have the opportunity to participate in this BETA as in previous expansions have not been selected ...

I myself, am most excited about rolling a worgen hunter and leveling up through all the old world zones that i have seen before. Endgame has always been boring to me and leveling is the best.
