Warhammer Online is getting a serious amount of ink lately. Tomorrow is the 29th, the day they have been touting as a huge day for new characters, new content and a whole new level of play for the game. The Warhammer Herald points out the massive amount of blogs that have been getting hammered with incredibly vague packages. Regardless of what was sent to each one, they are trying their hardest to guess what the message behind these packages might be. You can either try your hand at guessing or simply wait until tomorrow to see what all the ruckus is about!
Mythic Entertainment's Warhammer Online keeps pushing the 29th of this month as a major day for them. As we previously noted, there may already be an additional class added on this magical day, but now news trickles in that may mean we have another class on our hands. A mysterious package arrived at The Green Skin Blog, and they are having a great time decoding it.
So, either Mythic is playing the cruelest joke of 2009 on us or we're in for some big news about the Slayer and Choppa careers on January 29, 2009! I somehow doubt they are messing with us here.
We hope they are not being messed with, as this could be some huge news. Hopefully this will mean there are some new classes from which to choose. Regardless of what it means, it is entertaining.
A Package sent to Keen and Graev's Gaming Blog might be some sort of hint as to what is next from Mythic Entertainment, although the hints are nebulous at best. One can only assume. From what is included, a haircut might somehow be necessary. The only thing we even think we know so far would be from a user who posted a comment.
“A notable aspect to Dwarf culture is the Slayer Oath. A Dwarf who has suffered a great shame, loss, or humiliation will dye his hair and beard orange, and cut it into a Mohawk using pig grease to stick it in place.”
Perhaps a Dwarven Slayer? The intrigue never stops here at Allakhazam, and we will keep you posted as the information comes to us.

It is now official: There's a War coming to Russia. Warhammer, that is, and as of the 13th, they have announced a totally Ruskie version of their MMORPG which will release on February 5th. Additionally, the servers will be regional and they will be offering Russian language support. First released in North Amerca, Europe and Oceania in September, this will be the first major expansion-of-base for Warhammer, showing that it has what-it-takes to compete with the current king of MMO's, WoW. Additionally, our Russian friends will be offered three different packs, including the collector's edition, limited edition steel book and a simple jewel case version.
Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning® continues its worldwide march as Mythic Entertainment™, an Electronic Arts Inc. studio, today announced that the fully localized Russian version of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning will go live on February 5, 2009. The Russian version of WAR will feature a fully localized gameplay experience as well as regionally-based servers and customer support.
And those of you getting this will be lucky enough to get a brand-new, non-CD Coaster to go with it! We here at Allakhazam are full of envy and spite, but we will just have to get over it.
Here are the WAR hotfixes for today!:
Combat and Careers: Swordmaster - Heaven's Blade: This ability now reduces resists by the correct amount and will properly display as a debuff.
Realm vs. Realm: The Tor Anroc scenario now requires players to be closer the The Brimstone Bauble when attempting to pick it up.

GamesRadar's Tyler Nagata had a few things to say as well about why you should pick up a copy of Warhammer Online. Here's a guy that loves the game so much it almost scares me:
Playing an MMO isn't a hobby. It isn't a pastime. It's an obsession that grabs you by the nuts and doesn't let go until you become a sleep-deprived zombie with an insatiable lust for more loot. MMOs aren't just games. They're an all consuming way of life that replaces your family with guildmates, sacrifices sleep for more raiding, and leaves you hung over with blurry visions of gear upgrades. If you've experienced any of these problems, you know you've been playing a damn good MMO.

MSNBC is all about WAR, when it comes to games at least. They've reviewed Warhammer Online and have a few positive things to say about it:
After more than three years of development, Mythic’s “Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning” has finally arrived to satiate the unquenchable appetites of online gamers the world over.
Based off the Warhammer Fantasy tabletop warfare game and novel series created by Games Workshop, the new games has been touted by industry watchers as the massively multiplayer online title that could finally dethrone Blizzard's “World of Warcraft” as king of the mountain.

The weekly Grab Bag is here, and with it comes a bit of clarification about this weeks announcement concerning applicable taxes:
Q. About the new applicable taxes you announced this week. If my state does not require you to collect sales tax on online subscriptions, do you anyway? If so, how do you report/pay this?
A. You will only be charged the taxes if your state/province has mandated that you must pay them.
Q. Hi, I don't understand why the offensive and defensive proc for the Warden class aren't castable if you are targeting a Thane. Is this a bug?
A. The Equalizer took some time to explain about what indeed is a bug: This actually isn't specific to targeting Thanes - there currently is a bug in the game that will prevent you from being able to cast any offensive or defensive proc spell on yourself if your current target has an offensive or defensive proc cast on them. This is in our tracker, and is awaiting a fix. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
There has been a lot of discussion about gold selling spammers in WAR since its release. The developers have defintely taken notice and had this to say about how to report these spammers should they mesage you:
To properly report someone soliciting the sale of in-game gold or services in exchange for real world currency, please use our new category designed specifically to address this violation in the Appeal Interface. The category is entitled GOLD/PL SALES, and is a stand-alone category. You will not find this under the Violation category itself.
Some things to note about how to appeal this violation properly:
