The Season of Frostfell is upon us! The holiday event was implemented in yesterday's patch, which also added some new hot zones filled with additional experience and item rewards. You can read all about the patch in our previous post.
As for Frostfell, the event runs through Jan. 8, 2009 and is comprised of a wealth of activities. Here's some information on just one of the quests:
Good parents save up their money all year long in order to get gifts for their children on Frostfell. But for the several families in the Plane of Knowledge there will be no gifts. Someone has stolen them! Kind hearted adventurers of level 55 to 64, 65 to 74, and 75 and over who want to help these families as a solo adventurer or with a group should speak to Elba Straw or one of the other distraught parents in the Plane of Knowledge.

"All EverQuest Live Servers (except Al'Kabor) will be brought down at 1:00 am PDT on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 for a Game Update. The servers are estimated to be down for 7 hours and are due to come back up on at 8:00am. (PDT is -7 GMT: 9:00am MDT, 10:00am CDT, 11:00am EDT, 3:00pm GMT)"
Players asked and SOE has listened, and is making quite a few changes to Sprint Tourneys!
So, how does this help those of you who can't play in 10 or more events per week? Glad you asked. We'll be using a new calculation for the Sprint totals. Each week, Sunday through Saturday, you and everyone else will receive Sprint points for only the best four showings. For example: You had a great day on Monday and placed very well on the two events. Tuesday was a terrible day, and you just couldn't get your deck to work. On Wednesday, you rebounded and placed well again. For the rest of the week, you played OK. You'll receive points for the Monday and Wednesday events. The rest does not affect your schedule.

You didn't think the EverQuest team would forget about Halloween this year, did you? The haunting of Norrath begins tomorrow, Oct. 24, and concludes Nov. 7.
There's two new events to participate in this year: The Necromancer's Garden and the Scarecrow Roundup. Help stop a crazed necromancer from spreading seeds in Greater Faydark or assist a poor farming couple banish their accidentally evil scarecrow creation.
Of course, the various candy, costumes, trick-or-treating events and other haunting tasks of years past are returning this year. Also, SOE has a ton of community-related polls, discussions and challenges going on throughout the extravaganza. All the information can be found on EQ Players.

A new rift has opened in the Plane of Time. This rift leads to a bleak prophecy of the end of existence. The world of Norrath lies in ruins. The planet has shattered into millions of shards, spinning in a silent void around the rapidly blackening star of Ro.
This is Part 5 of the Seeds of Destruction "Unfolding the Lore" series from EQLive. It centers around Toskirakk (an ancient ogre city), the Korascian Warrens, and the Rathe Council Chambers:
Invasion of Earth
During the Elder Age of Norrath, the first Rallosian forces led by the great ogre Murdunk invaded the Plane of Earth - the realm ruled by The Rathe, Council of Thirteen. Under the command of Rallos Zek, the Warlord, Murdunk was instigated to invade this realm by Rallos Zek's eldest son, Eriak. The goal was simple for Murdunk - he wanted to prove to Rallos Zek, the Warlord, that he was worthy to lead the forces of Zek throughout Norrath.

Thank you to everyone who waited patiently for the NDA to be lifted before sharing information with their friends!
Please note that even though the NDA has been lifted, there are still some limitations. Also, the Seeds of Destruction Beta forums remain under restriction. You are not permitted to share information from that section of the EQ Forums.
