KingsIsle Entertainment has unveiled the mystery composer for Wizard101's Wintertusk world, and it's none other than Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers. Over the last two months, he composed seven pieces of environmental music that serve to define the personality of this icy world. Here's a comment from the musician:

"This was a first for me.  I never produced or wrote music for a game or in this case, a whole world before.  So I jumped at the chance to work with KingsIsle. It was very cool to be part of a project that allowed me to help create the mood for Wintertusk and interact with an audience in an entirely new way."

Players can find Jonas in the game and watch him conduct a magical orchestra, as well as listen to his score in the new Wintertusk world. For more details on his composing process, watch Jonas' interviews with Cambio and MTV News.

Wizard101 has released a total of seven hints about the Mystery Music Artist who composed the soundtrack for the upcoming Wintertusk zone. Let's re-cap the full list of hints:

Wizard101 has released their second hint about the Mystery Music Artist who composed the soundtrack for the upcoming Wintertusk zone. The artist is a young, popular musician who, according to the first hint has been on SNL and does not have the intials 'JB'. Hint #2 reads:

"My natural hair color is brown."

The fans of Wizard101 are leaning heavily towards Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift according to the game's Facebook page. What's your guess?

Kingisle Entertainment has announced that a popular, young artist has composed the soundtrack for the new Wizard101 zone, Wintertusk. Who is this mystery artist? The team is giving away hints right up to the release of the Wintertusk update launch date later this spring. The first hint has been revelead:

"I’ve performed on Saturday Night Live and my initials are not J.B.!"

So we can rule out Justin Bieber. The team gave away another hint by saying, "our mystery composer has a huge name in the music business but has never created music for a video game." On the Wizard101 facebook page there is much speculation between three popular teen artists: Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift. Selena Gomez has previously appeared in-game and fans are also wondering if she's decided to make another contribution to the game. Who do you think is working behind the scenes at Wizard101?

Wizard101's upcoming Wintertusk update is now available on the test realm! This massive patch introduces the Wintertusk world, new pets, new spells for all schools, roaming mounts, a return to Crab Alley and more.

KingsIsle Entertainment has announced that Wizard101 fans will get a chance to buy mounts for up to 50% off during Mount-A-Palooza. Now through April 27 all permanent mounts are on sale at the Crown Shop, some for as much as 50% off the original price.

For this special event the team has brought back some previously retired mounts and there are some new mounts you have never seen!

As you may remember, we got the chance to sit down with Fred Howard, the vice president of marketing for Wizard101, at PAX East in Boston.

While there to discuss the upcoming Wintertusk update, we got to meet Chase Glaser, a contestant for the Ultimate Wizard101 Fan contest, hosted by Beckett Massive Online Gamer. Glaser impressed everyone with his awesome Wizard cosplay and hand-made Celestia diorama.

All his hard work paid off, as Glaser was just named the Grand Prize winner! The team received so many great submissions that they decided to select two other outstanding submissions for recognition from the video and e-mail categories, each of whom will receive 60,000 Crowns and a Wizard101 poster signed by the KingsIsle staff.

The latest Wizard101 producer's letter from Leah “Professor Falmea” Ruben details more of what you can expect from the upcoming Wintertusk update. Ruben explains that there will be something new for players of all levels including high-level pets, the revamped Crab Alley for players 10-15 and the role of Grandmother Raven who will be around to aid you as your character encounters mysteries and challenges across the Spiral. Not to mention the myriad of new spells and spell upgrades.

Wizard101 has announced a new exclusive pet! Be the first of your friends to own the Pet Rock! Watch him sit, stay, and, well, that's about it.

If you want your pet rock to go get a checkup at the doctor, dont be worried when they say there's no heart beat. Your pet does need sleep, but he can do that while you're offline. If you are on a mount, don't worry; your pet rock is safely tucked inside your backpack. If you don't feel your pet rock is getting enough exercise, you can always place it in your house.

What will you call your new pet? I'm leaning towards 'Dolemite.'
