BFF Report Ep. 53: DC Universe Online (Part 2)

This week's episode of the BFF Report has quite the story behind it. Mike B. aka Fony first attempted to check out DC Universe Online back in episode 51 prior to the game's launch. A bug involving teleporting enemies kept Fony from completely covering the game, which resulted in a very short episode.

In response, Sony Online Entertainment contacted Fony and attempted to pinpoint the cause of the bug. In the process, Fony and SOE President John Smedley became best friends forever. The bug was ultimately fixed and the live version of the game now works on Fony's computer.

That brings us to BFF Report episode 53. Fony is finally able to take a real look at DC Universe Online, so check out the video after the jump to hear his thoughts on questing, PvP, co-op instances and more!

SOE President Helps Squash Fony's DCUO Bug

As you may remember, Mike B. aka Fony ran into some technical difficulties while playing the DC Universe Online beta for BFF Report episode 51. A bug involving teleporting enemies kept Fony from completely covering the game, which resulted in a very short episode. This bug ultimately allowed Fony and Sony Online Entertainment President john Smedley to become best friends forever... at least that's how Fony puts it in the latest episode of This Week in MMO over at GameBreaker.TV.

Fony recently received a conference call from SOE tech support in an attempt to sqaush the bug, and he was surprised to discover that Smedley was on the other end of the line. The call lasted about an hour, and SOE decided to build an exact replica of Fony's machine to find out what was causing the error.

Upon further investigation, SOE was able to implement a fix for the teleporting mobs bug. Fony has confirmed that the live version of DC Universe Online works on his computer, and he will be featuring the game in a future episode of the BFF Report.

For more details on Fony's interaction with SOE tech support and Smedley, check out the first 15 minutes of TWIMMO episode 31 after the jump. Keep watching for discussions on League of Legends, Lord of the Rings Online, Champions Online and more!
