First Class Announced

BioWare has officially announced the first class for Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Bounty Hunter. This comes to some surprise, but it gives players a good idea as to what the rest of class archs will work in the upcoming MMO.

We are proud to announce the first playable character class revealed in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, the Bounty Hunter.

An infamous mercenary of the Star Wars™ universe, the Bounty Hunter’s journey is ruthless yet rewarding. Deadly missions and assassinations are just part of the dangerous tasks involved in choosing the Bounty Hunter career path. With missiles and flamethrowers at arm’s reach, the Bounty Hunter uses the latest in advanced armor and weapon technology to carry out these assignments - gaining not only money, but notoriety as a reward.

Stay tuned for our exclusive interview with BioWare about the first playable class. Also feel free to head on over to our media gallery to take a closer look at the Bounty Hunter.

Enhanced Sky and Environment System

Quest Online has recently implemented a new sky and environment system for their upcoming MMO "Alganon". They've been kind enough to send us over an exclusive look at the new system.

"These screenshots are the first of a series that show off our new sky & environment system that was put into place a few days ago. We have added advanced effects such as realistic physics to the way light reflects off of surfaces, how clouds move in the sky, and realistic changes of the day cycle.

Quest Online wants to present to you a world that is not only alive with fantastic and magical creatures as a fantasy world should have, but also a hint of that mysticism in the surrounding environment. We feel that as you adventure through Alganon you will enjoy the environment just as much as your final destination holds."

Exclusive Aion Media #3

Last month we had the opportunity to talk with Chris Hager about Aion and some of its finer points. Since then we've given you several exclusive looks into the world of Atreia. Today we have four brand new screenshots that are some of the best that we've seen yet. Check them out!

Discover Lemuria in the Depths of Champions Online

Our friends at Cryptic have given us a special look at one of the newer zones available in the Champions Online beta. What's more, Bill Roper wrote us some commentary which we've published with our screenshots, after the jump! If you haven't already signed up for beta, you can do so here.

New LothlÏŒrien Screenshots Released

Volume II: Book 7: Leaves of LÏŒrien has been a major discussion topic in the Lord of the Rings Online community lately. The first free content expansion since the release of Mines of Moria is currently on the Bullroarer test server and was the focus of a recent dev diary. And now, Turbine has released the first batch of screenshots from Book 7!

The six new screenshots illustrate the region of LothlÏŒrien, which has been expanded for the update. Players will continue the epic storyline in this area, so you'll be seeing a lot of LothlÏŒrien in the future if you plan to focus on Book 7.

You can view all of the new screenshots in our gallery here.

Introducing Solomon Grundy

Sony Online Entertainment has given us the rare opportunity to introduce a new villain that has at long last been added into DC Universe Online. Solomon Grundy, or as I call him "Zombie Hulk", has found his way from the swamp to the city and if the media we've been sent is any indication, he's ready to kick some Superhero butt.

Solomon Grundy™ is part zombie and part plant, a bizarre, centuries-old half-human life form filled with confused anger.  At times he is a rampaging monster, at others a calculating and coldblooded villain.

His enhanced strength makes him a threat even to the DC Universe's strongest heroes.  As an immortal, massive blows or injuries can't kill or hurt him -  afterwards, he simply regenerates to rise again.

Recently, he's been seen skulking in swamps, sewers, and abandoned buildings in both Metropolis and Gotham City. Denizens of these cities beware the low growl of "Solomon Grundy, born on a Monday…"

Check out our exclusive screenshots. If you'd like a closer look, we're also hosting Concept Art and Renders.

Champions Online Exclusive Screenshot from Beta

With the launch of Champions Online quickly approaching, we've been curious about how the game is shaping up. Naturally, I sent Cryptic a note on that very topic of concern and they replied in an unusual fashion, but it definitely spoke loudly. We received a screenshot this evening that hasn't been shown publically until now. As you can clearly see, things seem to be moving along just fine. To that extent, the amount of character diversity shown in this screenshot is uncanny. Our response to Cryptic: We want more!

Our appetite for a fresh look at Champions Online is once again fulfilled. Thanks Cryptic!

Exclusive Aion Media #2

More exclusive Aion screenshots?! Horray! The folks over at NCsoft have been extra generous to the Allakhazam community and this week we're taking a look at an in-game battle, cosmetically stunning undead baddies as well as a group of Asmodian, one of the two factions of Daeva resulting from the Millennium War. To your right you can see the Asmodian group. As the story goes, the Asmodians are locked into an eternal blood feud against the Elyos, the second of the Daeva factions, because they believe that the Asmodians are responsible for the destruction of the Tower of Eternity. Oh how I enjoy well written MMO lore.

Check out our new exclusive screenshots and stay tuned for more in the coming weeks!

Exclusive TwelveSky 2 Media #1

Our friends over at MAYN Interactive have sent us four exclusive screenshots for the upcoming MMO, TwelveSky 2. In our latest batch we get to take a closer look at some of the character models from within the game. Considering the recommended system requirements, I'm rather impressed with how polished the game looks in it's current state. What do you think? Let us know in our TwelveSky 2 forums.
