Metal Warden Revealed in Bloodline Champions

OK, this was revealed about a week ago, but more coverage can't be a bad thing. Also, Stunlock Studios is giving away free Blood Coin Boosts for every 50k views they get before November 23rd. Our odds of succeeding and getting that boost seem a little low, but can't succeed if you don't dream big.

Anyway, the newly introduced "Metal Warden" from Bloodline Champions looks to be a Samus Aran inspired character, as she fires blasts of Magma from her arm cannon and can transform into a spiky metal ball to escape damage. She can also charge up her shots to deal even more damage! I think I've found my new ranged Bloodline to play when she's released later this month!

Stomping it up in Bloodline Champions

It's been a few weeks since the official commercial launch of Bloodline Champions (BLC), and I'll admit that it wasn't exactly a date that has weighed heavily on my mind. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm not a big fan of BLC, because if you read my original preview of the game back in July, you would see that this was a game I really wanted to see succeed.

The real reason I haven't been keeping up with BLC's every move is mainly because I wanted to play the game as it was meant to be played, and I didn't want to burn myself out while waiting for it. Secretly, I think I was also afraid at the time that BLC wouldn't have the right systems in place to encourage a thriving community; were there plans for any form of in-game progression? Will BLC have the server stability that competitive gamers need? Will there ever be new and interesting bloodlines? These were all important questions that I felt would be answered (or not) at launch, so I set Bloodline Champions on the shelf and waited for this day to come.

Bloodline Champions Launch Trailer Released

Bloodline Champions officially went live last week, and Funcom and Stunlock Studios are celebrating with the release of a new launch trailer! The video gives you a glimpse of the game's arena PvP combat.

Vivox Brings Voice Chat to Bloodline Champions

Following the official launch of Bloodline Champions last week, Stunlock Studios announced today that the game will feature Vivox's high-definition voice solution to let players talk with each other as they battle for victory. Voice communication is certainly helpful in an arena-based PvP game since it allows teammates to plan their moves effectively.

Vivox is providing players with 3D voice capabilities, which means players will sound like they are speaking nearby or farther away depending on their proximity within the game. This will give you an idea of where your teammates are on the map simply by listening to them.

Mike B. aka Fony recently tried out Bloodline Champions in episode 49 of the BFF Report. Check out the video to get a hands-on look at the game in action.

BFF Report Episode 49: Bloodline Champions

For those of you keeping track, the last four episodes of the BFF Report have focused on World of Warcraft's Cataclysm expansion. Well, Mike B. aka Fony decided that it was time to leave Azeroth and jump into a new game. This week he takes a look at Bloodline Champions, which is the latest addition to the Massively Online Battle Arena genre from Funcom and Stunlock Studios. Does the game have what it takes to stand apart from other Arena-based PvP games? Watch episode 49 of the BFF Report after the jump and find out!

Oh, there's a slight chance that Fony's not wearing pants in this episode. Actually, there's a really big chance he's not wearing pants.
