'Behind Enemy Lines' Becomes a Recurring Event

Aion's "Behind Enemy Lines" rifting event has turned out to be popular with players. The event, which removes the defensive buffs in Heiron and Beluslan, kicked off in mid-March and was only supposed to last for a little over a week. NCsoft then extended the event so players could enjoy it during the recent Reactivation Celebration. Well, it looks like it's going to be sticking around for a few more months.

Starting April 13, the "Behind Enemy Lines" event will be held every other week in Aion for several months. The first cycle will be held from April 13-20, which means the next one should be held from April 27 to March 4.

Aion Welcomes Back Players with Reactivation Week

Welcome back to Aion! The latest Reactivation Celebration kicked off this morning and runs through March 31 at 8 a.m. PDT. Former players have a full week to see what's changed in Atreia over the last six months.

Players can participate in the "For War and Glory" Abyss Points Event, which reduces the amount of AP lost from PvP encounters in the Abyss and Silentera Canyon and increases the amount of AP gained from slaying monsters in the Abyss and Silentera Canyon. They can also enjoy the popular "Behind Enemy Lines" Rifting Event, which removes the defensive buffs in Heiron and Beluslan.

In addition, each day during the reactivation week Daevas will receive a survey containing a special gift. These presents include a "Play the Drum" emotion card on March 30 and a functional pet on April 1. Both of these prizes can be seen in the above image.

Lance Stites Leaves NCsoft, Outlines Staff Changes

Lance Stites, the executive vice president of the NCsoft West Game Production Studio, has written a letter to the community to announce his departure from the company. "I’ll be taking a bit of a sabbatical, and spending time with my family touring some of America’s National Parks," he said.

Stites also outlines some of the other staffing changes that recently occurred at NCsoft. Aion Producer Chris "Kinslon" Hager left NCsoft several weeks ago, and Sean Neil has been promoted to fill the position.

In similar news, Lineage II Producer Chris "Cabel" Mahnken recently left the team to pursue other opportunities. Marissa "Moxie" McWaters was just promoted to the producer role, and we had the chance to speak with her at PAX East about the Goddess of Destruction tech demo.

NCsoft Donates $6.3 million to Japan Relief Effort

In response to the devastating earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan, NCsoft is donating approximately $6.3 million to the relief effort. According to Senior Executive Sung Joon Park, this amount corresponds to one month of sales.

“We’ll maintain the service with the minimal electricity and personnel," Park added. "Maintaining daily life is also important; therefore, we plan to uphold the service."

If you're interested in making a charitable donation to aid Japan, check out the list of organizations that NCsoft provided after the jump.

Aion's Reactivation Celebration and Daevadome

Next week is a big week for Aion. The latest Reactivation Celebration runs from March 24-31, which means former players are invited back to Atreia to see what's changed over the last six months. They'll also be able to participate in the "For War and Glory" Abyss Points Event, which reduces the amount of AP lost from PvP encounters in the Abyss and Silentera Canyon and increases the amount of AP gained from slaying monsters in the Abyss and Silentera Canyon.

But wait, there's more! Players will get the chance to prove their skills in Daevadome from March 21-25 at different times on each server. Daevadome has ten rounds of battle, so you have ten chances to survive. The last daeva standing will earn a pair of Lucky Wings and a custom forum title.

Feeling tempted by lady luck? Aion's Fortune Fayre event is just for you! From March 9 - 23 a motley crew of Fayerfolk (above) will decend on the capital cities and encourage Daevas to try their luck in games of chance.

"Who will be influencing your destiny in the year to come? Will it be one of the Empyrean Lords, or, perhaps, Aion himself? Maybe your fate is cursed by the Dragon Lord Beritra? Only the Fayrefolk can tell you."

Aion's 'Impossible Love' Winners & New Event!

Don't fret that the event has ended though, NCsoft has announced a new event for Aion players. The Atreia Remembers… event is to memorialize the many unfortunate Daevas who were victims of a terrible massacre in the last year. Just log in to Aion each day of the event to receive different items. Items will be available at Noon PST on each day, and come attached to surveys delivered to your characters.

Be aware that the survey reward items are not tradeable and will only be awarded one character per server per account, so make sure that you are logged in with the character that you wish to have the item. The event will be taking place now through March 4, so make sure to log in and get your items!
