Tradeskill plan refunds??Follow

I had gone to Twilight Highlands to purchase 2 new plans for leatherworking. I opened up the vendor screen and was lagging a bit. It ends up that I purchased 2x of the bloodied leather chest instead of just the one.

TH has been very laggy on my server, but I don't usually see it too much.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of a sell back option that is currently or in the future may be available. Kinda like the honor/justice points vendors.

Thanks

That one you might be able to petition. They won't refund the epic patterns that are mismarked as requiring 425 LW rather than 525 because, hey, you'll be able to use them eventually. But if they can go back to a log that clearly shows you buying two copies of the same BoP pattern back to back, that seems like grounds for a refund.

So I'm not actually supposed to be able to buy those until 525? Does that mean if I were to buy them and learn them they would say I couldn't make it until 525 or if I bought it it would tell me I can't learn it until 525? I've been kind of bleh about buying the LW patterns right now as I hear a lot of people complaining about "item not found" stuff.

That's the symptom. Two problems: (1) tooltip skill is wrong, (2) bad in-game error message when you try. If it said "Requires Leatherworking 525", that would be one thing, but "the item was not found" is confusing at best. So there's no meaningful UI hint that you're buying something you can't use, either when you buy or when you use.

Basically, every pattern that makes an ilvl 359 item should require LW 525. And they do, since apparently people who are LW 525 learn them without issue (I haven't tried yet because I will only hit ilvl 330 tonight, so Chaos Orb access has been a limitation). Just stay away from the 359 recipes if they say they require LW 425.

I really wish they would fix those - can't imagine it being that tough?

It's not just the epic crafted LW gear that's wrong, dragon-something leg armor is wrong too. I thought maybe it would at least be an alternative to making 10 Cloak of Beasts from 505 to 510, but no, and I waited 3 days for my ticket to get escalated to the right level of GM to get an answer. Having to raise your crafting skill off a multi-skill-item-turned-yellow was a brilliant design idea for LW.

Good news, the latest hotfix fixed the bugged LW recipes - I was just able to learn the one gathering dust in my bag!

Are there any LW patterns that give multiple skill ups? I love wasting 1k+ in mats to get 5 skill ups just to have to use about 600g to buy even 1 recipe for 510, and there are 5 pages or so of recipes.

Also...why are the cloth recipes only 8 bolts? Both heavy savage and bolts take 5x of their respected mats, so why do we have to spend 2 more for each of our recipes.

The PvP melee leather ones all were giving two skill ups each.

I hate to sound cynical (always wanted to say that), but is this confirmed? You weren't LW 525 when you learned it? Because I had the same problem (exactly the same problem, including the ticket escalation and the wait) as AstarintheDruid and I thought it was a mis-labeling problem, not a wrong level of use problem.

And maybe I missed it, but I don't see any mention of it in here.

Finally got a response from Blizz about this issue. My ticket had been in elevated(escalated) status for so long that I don't think that there is a regular status. Got a refund of the 10 heavy savage leather.

I wish that they would add in a dummy box that asks if you want to spend xxxx for yyyyy.

I didn't have a problem with any of the LW recipes I bought since I hit 525, but maybe there was one recipe that was specifically bugged.

I again have the same experience as you. As soon as I hit 525 LW I clicked on the recipe and learned it. And I went back and read the in-game mail I got from Blizz, and it said exactly that - the tooltip is incorrect, you will be able to learn the recipe once you reach 525 LW. And this was about a week ago, so it was before the hotfix.
